pi 0
Granted this is not one of my favorite JW scores (it is still tremendous in voice though.) I feel like the first two reels of this film are overscored, too grandioso, too much music for the lack of action (perhaps I am speaking of the film up to the meeting with Mr. Howard). I feel like the orchestra doesn't quite fit into the film yet - there are some really excellent dark moments in the orchestra later which are brilliant. Perhaps a more period/patriotic/pastoral influenced score would have worked better here.Ok there, that is my only beef with all of JW's music, and it really is a minor thing. Henry B 50
Yeah... The Patriot could have been a bit, um, different.
odnurega1 0
So, other than what is stated in this thread, why does everyone loathe The Patriot? I like it as a film, but the historical inaccuracies are very blatant, and make me not enjoy it quite as much.

I can't think of any historical movie that was accurate, except for maybe Tora Tora Tora, and that was only accurate FOR ITS TIME.Go figure.Good movie. Amazing parts of an otherwise decent score.
