Marian Schedenig 8,199
Here's a place for all the photos I'm sure many of us shoot at various film music related events. For those cases where there's not enough to discuss to warrant a separate thread.I'll start with some photos from yesterday's annual Film Music Symposium in Vienna. As always, it's tied to a film music concert, which will take place on Monday. David Newman will conduct the RSO, and special guest Lalo Schifrin will be awarded the Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award.David Newman:Lalo Schifrin:Nick Redman introducing Lalo Schifrin:More pics below. alicebrallice

Marian Schedenig 8,199
Lalo Schifrin playing 4 handed piano improvisations during the rehearsal break:Bullitt signed:A full set of all my photos can be found in this Flickr set.Mr. Newman's reaction when he learned his brother was hired to compose the score to Skyfall.I've been thinking about doing a "caption this" thread with these pics anyway.I'd like to see a David Newman take on a Bond film, too.But anyway, thanks for the pics. They're all really cool. What was really cool was seeing Schifrin improvising live. He's rather slow on foot and in conversations (not surprising, given his age), but he seemed very much in his element when seated at the piano. I hope some of the videos the others were shooting end up on YouTube soon. He'll be playing the solo part for the Mannix theme at Monday's concert.
