A Compositional Question

So, today, a melody popped into my head as I was driving, but for the life of me I can't tell if it's something I've heard before, or if it's original. Any tips on figuring that out from the composers/songwriters of JWFan? Should I post a sheet music snippet?

It's as much the rhythm line as it is the notes that seems vaguely familiar.

It's a rather common descending pattern/progression used in both film music and pop music. Not exactly something you'd be called out for plagiarism really.

Thanks! I was worried about using it, thinking it might be something that was used prominently somewhere. I suppose using it would be kind of like the "Dark Places of the World" motif from LOTR: a pretty common progression.
