TheRuleOfThirds 0 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Does anyone collect them? For some reason, back in high school, I used to collect these things. I'm not sure how much they offer in lieu of fine literature, but I think it's fun to collect junk from the golden age of SF. My first buy was Starlog #20: Superman: The Movie. I can't remember what my second one, was. Anyhow...I stopped buying them, but today I bought my first one since I've been in college. I got Starlog #40: The Empire Strikes Back. Included: Mark Hamill interview; The Film Music of John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith, Pt III.So does anybody even know what a Starlog is or am I the only one?
Miguel Andrade 1,727 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Yes, I know about the Starlog magazine, and I think I bought a couple of them years ago. Now, could you provide scans of the Williams article?
TheRuleOfThirds 0 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Umm...not immediately. Or maybe at all, for that matter. It's actually more about Goldsmith in that issue. I didn't actually read it. I just perused it and it didn't really say much about Williams. It was only about a page long, too.
Ollie 1,375 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Yes I used to collect Starlog although I no longer have any issues, got rid of them years ago.
ST-321 42 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Back in the day I had issue # 1 and the first couple of years of them. They are no long gone and I haven't seen an issue in years.
JoeinAR 1,957 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Starlog was the internet of the past.I did a thread on it at this site years ago.
