Erik Woods 555
UPDATE: March 27, 2015 THE SPOTLIGHT | FIVE AWESOME COMPOSERS THAT NEED TO BE SCORING HOLLYWOOD FILMS Last week, the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO SPOTLIGHT focused on five composers who I would LOVE to see have a crack at scoring a major Hollywood film. The five are Kevin Kaska, Peter Boyer, Andrew Pearce, Mike Verta and David Coscina. http://www.cinematicsound.net/in-the-spotlight-five-awesome-composers-who-need-to-be-scoring-hollywood-films/ Visit http://www.cinematicsound.netto hear the show. karelm 2,913
That's some very seriously impressive JW style music. I found the Kaska overbearing and lacking contrast but well orchestrated. I think Mike Verta probably captures the JW spirit the best but the melodies never quite reach the level of JW memorability. A good example of how the hardest work goes into the theme. Like JW says, once the theme is nailed, the craft is the easier part. Overall, very solid and really impressive music in this enjoyable two hour program.
