Ray Barnsbury 8 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 I'm off tomorrow afternoon for Walt Disney World with my high school band. We will be performing a concert at the TomorrowLand Stage Sunday morning and marching in an afternoon parade later that day. One of our concert pieces is 'John Williams in Concert,' featuring E.T., The Mission Theme (NBC), The Imperial March, Star Wars Main Title, Cantina Band, Olympic Spirit, and Jaws, so that should be great. We will also be participating in a sight reading workshop with a Disney conductor, in which we will record part of the soundtrack to an existing Disney movie. In between these events we'll spend time in the various parks, so I'm really excited. However, I will also really miss this board and my fellow posters, as well as hearing all the latest news about Mr. Williams. I'll be back a week from this Saturday, so until then, farewell! Ray Barnsbury
RomanticStrings 62 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 That sounds like a whole lot of fun. Send postcards and bring back pictures! Band trips are some of the more fun trips that anyone can go on.~Conor
CYPHER 1 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 At my old school band trips were by far and away the most debauched trips available. Or so I heard. But I don't actually think anyone did too much playing... CYPHER
tharpdevenport 4 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Don't forget to tell us about the ultra tight security and how Mickye Mouse searched up your butt for drugs and weapons- he has the gloves on allready. And how Goffy just stood there and watched and periodicly mumered, "Goosh!"
Ray Barnsbury 8 Posted February 24, 2003 Author Posted February 24, 2003 Hello again to everyone!I returned last night from warm, sunny Florida to cold, cloudy Michigan. But it was a great trip. Disney World is one of the best places in the world to vacation. And marching as a band down Main Street . . . well, it's an experience I'll treasure forever. But anyway . . . I'm back now, and it's taking me a while to catch up on everything. I'm glad to be here again. It's always good to return to normalcy, and I'm looking forward to posting with you all once more.
