  1. Oh. I thought you were an expert! "Well, I think the anamorphic is about, say, 35 mm!"
  2. OK. That goes without saying! Gees, the things you know around here! So, Should one see it in 3-D or bright and colorful 2-D version? What are your preferences? I've been to the 3-D versions of the films that have offered both formats last couple of years although some of the critics (Roger Ebert for one) have been encouraging their readers to rather see the 2-D versions. But what do you think?
  3. I think the track list was recently added to the Japanese Amazon site. I don't recall having seen it there before. And they display the 19 track list and also say that this is US import.
  4. He's just running... and there's the shadow. That's it. Well, shadows are extremly rare in Hergé's claire ligne world! Extremely rare!
  5. The only Tintin book with shadows in it was The Shooting Star, as far as I recall. There's Tintin running past a wall with his shadow projected on it but Snowy is not in that particular frame. And neither is the yellow circle (cause it's not a spotlight in the book but a shooting star ,you see) But I still think that the image is evolved from that scene.
  6. Over at tintinology.poosk.com a reader called Brou left an interesting comment. He found info on a french site regarding the plot and the time of the movie. The original link to the comment is here (it's the second comment): http://tintinology.poosk.com/2011/10/06/new-trailer-2/#comments Not much new but still interesting details.
  7. It's interesting in The Pursuit of the Falcon on 0:12-0:14 we hear a brass motive three times: dah-dadaah, dah-dadaah, dah-dadaah. Which is very similar to the main theme in the Ubisoft's Tintin Game (which is a very catchy and fun theme). Any connection? A coincidence? 7:10 in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=japSYRaCvgI 0:56 in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAHrqesp79M
  8. Absolutely. A classic John Williams. And we were there!
  9. Ah, thanks. It's hard to say with the Snowy's theme. This bit sounds to me like it's leading up to the main theme - or is connecting two sections. I can't wait to hear the whole theme. Said Jason:
  10. I find it likely that they try to morph some more albums together instead of doing just one story (two books). I'm not sure if the Moon story is enough for a movie. And I think that maybe someone like Charlie Chaplin would be great as Calculus (But then again no-one is like Charlie Chaplin). I think he would have to have the physics. I'm not sure about Geoffrey Rush..not at all. Johnny Depp?
  11. A great new interview with the main actors. They claim it's not a motion capture film but an animated film with human performance!!!
  12. And gets involved with aliens and discovers a shooting stars with powers that could change the course of history.
  13. Yes, it's a little unnerving. It seems a bit much to go from the treasure to "a power that could have changed the course of history". But then, Tintin is no strange to supernatural powers. Strange things happen in some of the books.
  14. I really don't see the harm in it. I will be extremely glad in the theater each time there comes the passage that I recognize!
  15. It rather reminds me of the theme from "Kronos unveiled" from "The Incredibles"... Regarding the samples: Promising stuff! The action material we hear sounds more coherent and inspired than certain Williams autopilot from recent years. And I've already got the theme from track 18 stuck in my head . It really fits Pope's description (energetic, twists and turns), so I hope to hear more of it in the film! Yeah, the youtube clip reminded me of In Her Majesty's Secret Service theme. And Giacchino's Kronos also has its nucleus in John Barry. When the sample links appear on Amazon, will those be the same samples as the ones we have heard? Or do they prepare their own?
  16. I'm not sure that's the same theme. In Sir Francis we hear a hint of the grand theme from the first trailer (not the teaser). What some referred to as pirate music. But in Captain Haddock Takes the Oars, there's Tinker-Tin yet again, a bit disguised but recognizable. Not, it's there right at the beginning of the Sir Francis sample. It's the variation starting with the low note instead of a high one, like in Flight. I think Tinker-Tin is called that because Tintin is tinkering with the seaplane. I maintain this is Snowy's theme and it works like Hedwig's. Yes, I hear the reference, I just think these are two different themes. This would be the theme in the beginning of Sir Frances and The Return to Marlinspike Hall and Finale: But this is the so called Tinker-Tin: But it could of course very well be two parts of the same piece.
  17. I'm not sure that's the same theme. In Sir Francis we hear a hint of the grand theme from the first trailer (not the teaser). What some referred to as pirate music. It's also in The Return to Marlinspike Hall and Finale. But in Captain Haddock Takes the Oars, there's Tinker-Tin yet again, a bit disguised but recognizable.
  18. The bit of sheet music that leaked on the net, called Tinker-Tin was apparently from The Flight to Bagghar. But the same theme is also used in The Captain's Counsel. I wonder if that is actually a part of the main Tintin theme...
