  1. Yes, there was never a chance to save Aemma. Either both die or the child could live.
  2. He’s just a RoP fan who isn’t happy that people have eyes.
  3. I’m surprised they took this long to announce it. but internally it’s been a given for a long time and work on season 2 has been progressing for awhile
  4. I’m aware of that but it’s still in the development stage and they had no idea how House of the Dragon would do. I’d be surprised if they went ahead with Dunk and Egg as mentioned above if they intend to show the Blackfyre rebellions in Hot D.
  5. I think if you add up all the footage that’s been shown so far it amounts to like 13 minutes. 13 minutes out of 8 hours seems like a lot to see and not have any clue of the premise. That’s about 3% of the run time. 4 minutes of footage from a 3 hour movie is about 2% of its runtime. I dunno, they’re showing a lot without telling us anything but it all looks plasticky and shite to me.
  6. And here I thought the Irish accents in Far and Away would be the worst every committed to film…
  7. I’m fairly certain it is. I don’t know what order it will happen it but I would guess after Joel’s injury and with flashbacks like it should fit into the game rather than having it happen chronologically. I’ve been following the show pretty closely online with casting, rumours, and set reports, leaks. Season 1 is the first game.
  8. “I know, I know, get on the fucking pallet” I would imagine they’ll spend some time filling in the gap between 1 and 2. Some of the events of the second game already take place in that time period via flashbacks so I imagine they’ll add more storylines in and around Jackson and introduce the likes of Jesse that way before heading on into Part II proper.
  9. I dunno, I just feel like we’ve been here before. I’ll believe it when we see it!
  10. I’m actually listening to the audiobooks of Dunk and Egg at the moment. Harry Lloyd reads them and he’s great. I’ve read them before but this is a nice way to do a re-read. I can’t get my head around how they could do the Blackdyre rebellions and Dunk and Egg. Would they be the same show? Different shows? Surely they’d have to wait for HotD to wrap up as two series about Targs fighting each other wouldn’t work on screen together. Do they take the Anthology approach with Hot D and go into the Blackfyres and then do Dunk and Egg? Will Martin ever write more Dunk and Egg novels? At this stage I’d rather be did and just abandoned Winds as I don’t ever see him completing ASOIAF.
  11. HBO’s biggest ever premiere https://t.co/QMTJQ8Ey84 So that’s Season 2 and a few more spin offs getting greenlit then. I would be surprised if we did hear it this season but you never know!
  12. I’ve never felt comfortable with calling it a House Baratheon theme. It’s used too frequently in other settings I agree that King of the Seven Kingdoms is more fitting. but yeah, I missed it in this episode completely! I’ve seen the episode twice!
  13. There was one thing in particular that made me feel like we were back home in Westeros in this episode. spoiler for graphic image
  14. I assume you mean spoilers for aired episodes and not book spoilers? @Jay can you clarify this? Can we openly talk about aired episodes in this thread?
  15. I’m not sure why it’s surprising for you. John Williams didn’t really abandon his sound or his themes when he did the Prequels. Why would Djawadi throw out what he’s already established? There’s plenty of scope for new themes but the Targaryens already have their own musical identity, he was never going to change that.
  16. Yeah, that’s looks and sounds pretty true to the game! Really looking forward to that next year!
  17. When it comes to books I’m definitely more of a Tolkien fan. I have more than an ikea Billy bookcase full of Tolkien books. I was initially excited about the TV show. But like you, the more I’ve seen the less I’ve liked. Hot D has completely pulled me in though. It has the same high production values of GoT, it has an amazing cast, it has a true line with the music and visuals from GoT, it has the potential to be a very good show. There’s loads of potential for great stories in Fire and Blood. RoP is made by people I know nothing about, from a studio who has made nothing that I enjoy, but seems to only want to host about how much money they’ve spent. There’s loads of potential for great stories in the Second Age, but it doesn’t seem as if they’ve gone about it right. They don’t know whether they want us to think of the PJ films or not. Honestly, I don’t think Amazon knows what they want from this show… aside from more Amazon Prime subscribers.
  18. Bean and Dinklage. could you imagine how quickly HBO would have shut down GoT if someone like Warwick Davis had to be cast as Tyrion?
