It doesn't amount to much I was hoping for a more mystical approach as if the force was literally awakening not shots of sith and droids.
-
I didn't think it was serious until the shot of the x-wings which did look beautiful.
-
It's a fucking ball all the same...
-
But seriously, wtf does the sith lightsaber need extra exhaust things like a motorcycle?
-
The soccer ball droid doesn't seem too farfetched. Technology must progress...

I might be in the minority of people who liked Trek 09 and Into Darkness.
It looks like a video game unfortunately.
-
I was hoping for a slightly different version of the theme but people will probably be drawn in by the nostalgic aspect.
-
Definitely has J.J. written all over it.
-
WTF?
Sounds like Benedict Cumberbatch narrating...slightly...
-
Hold on to your butts...

When I read the rumored plot synopsis about a genetically modified/mutated dinosaur escaping and holding a grudge I thought it couldn't be real.
Shit. Nothing in this trailer has the brevity or serious tone that the first two films established. The music just didn't fit in the trailer at all. I'm looking forward to the film but I'm slightly less enthusiastic about it now. Hopefully Giacchino can give us a good score!

Well I say these hobbit films have taken their eye off of Bilbo and on too many other things It's constantly worrying about the company, the necromancer, kegolas, tauriel and fili and bard and so on.
-
I think Shore said stuff it. He didn't compose the theme so I never cared about it that much even though it is probably more memorable than many of the themes in the hobbit scores...
-
Just like the Misty Mountains theme, they got over that so no need to reference it again.
oh shit I posted too late
-
It's on the sessions making it an unfair poll to anyone who hasn't heard them other than actually putting the film on again.

btw, to quote myself:
I didn't find 2001 all that great actually. I had great expectations and came out of it slightly bummed that it didn't live up to them. It's a good film, but not one I would rate as high as Interstellar.
I thought it was a good film and I definitely understand its profound influence on science fiction and that's something I actually appreciate about the film among other elements. Personally I enjoyed Interstellar more. That's it.
-
I don't want this to turn into another war over what is considered 'art'. 'Greatness' means fuck all to me.
-
I don't think I implied a misunderstanding of the film.
-
We need more films in the vein of TNG's 'Darmok'. That's imaginative science fiction.

Giacchino uses woodwinds albeit in a way similar to Williams and Goldsmith.
I think the RCP style is congruent with the pop songs littered throughout a film. Casual audiences just don't care/ understand thematic structures in film music. They probably only think in terms of genre.

Any theories about what it was that grabbed Brandt when they traveled through the worm hole?
Wasn't this explained? It was Cooper.
-
Or John Williamson and this was an unfortunate typo?
-
Well I think that he probably recorded more than the teaser but at this point it's speculation until someone lays down the cold hard facts.
HA 2 Was great. I love Christmas Star and Star of Bethlehem. The reprisals of Somewhere in my Memory were plesant and as far as how it played in the film everything seemed ok. But holy shizz the film was terrible. It would still be more original than Home Alone 2
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (JJ Abrams 2015)

and the bloody title reveal seems shoddy as if it was made on windows movie maker...
