  1. Good call... any other thoughts? The "sails" sound synthezied yes, the "sails" (never thought of them as that!) do sound synthesised. but they might be an organ now that i think about it. wasn't the hall basically built around the 5000+ pipe organ? (can you accually make that "wah wah" sound on a pipe organ?)
  2. hmm...that's weird. don't know why it would do that. POST EDITED BY MODERATOR

  4. hmm...well i believe i've recorded a "perfect" (meaning as perfect as it can be coming from a 128 kbs stream) recording of the program. no hiss, skips, reverse channels, etc (to my knowlege, i'll double check it tomorrow). i'm in the process of mastering it all right now. we'll see how it all turns out. if anyone would be able to host the file maybe we could get it out to everyone who didn't have a chance to hear or record it?
  5. oh, me too! encore! encore! encore!
  6. wow, i was gone all day and just happened to get home and remember to turn on the computer and set it up to record ay 7:05! the exact moment that steven spielburg says "good evening" or whatever... almost didn't make it. i'm getting the stream....128 kbs, and not tinny. i think this will work out nicely.... edit: and also since i'm recording the streamcast mp3 stream, it doesn't matter if it skips because it is all digital instead of recording out of my soundcard.
  7. i record from KCRW all the time using streambox ripper. i think that they archive in 44 kbs real audio, but i just found out that they broadcast live in 128 kbs streaming mp3 and 80 kbs real audio. i'll try to get the 128 mp3 stream.
  8. looks good...especially since i don't see the song that liv tyler supposedly recorded for ROTK on there.
  9. hey, haven't posted here in a while, but i saw something somewhere that said soundings was going to be broadcast on kcrw in la. this is a very cool radio station that usually archives most everything on their website. so you can just record it off of the real audio stream. it is better quality than recording off an fm radio because it is digital and i believe they archive in a higher quality than fm allows (i'm not sure, but i think so. i can't remember). brian
  10. is the movie like regular japanese anime? i absolutly cannot stand the anime stuff they play on cartoon network, etc... is spirited away similar? i've only heard good things about it. but i also only heard good things about princess moanoke (sp?), which i couldn't stand either. is it unlikely that i would like spirited away?
  11. i was looking through the guide on direct tv yesterday i think, and i saw that on trio, but i thought it was the movie so i didn't watch it. hope they replay it. was it any good? bravo did a series on movie music a few months ago. it wasn't too great, but it's nice to see attention being given to the genre.
  12. i'm going to buy this one, but i can't wait for the rumoured 2-disc "adult-orientated" versions of the films to show up. they are supposed to have directors commentary, interviews, etc....instead of 10 hours of games.
  13. i never thought of dobby either! interesting, but shouldn't this be in the Other section?
  14. the what exactly is the difference between the two? is the gold disc made out of gold or something?
