  1. Ren, you don't have to put my name in the program if you're low on space. It's not like anyone who reads it will know who I am anyways. Trumpeteer, I didn't mean it as a bad thing, necessarily, just that it was stuck in my head ALL the next day . . . and as much as I like it, it IS very Christmas-y . . . not exactly what I was looking for in August. -- Matt, descending back into "lurker" status _______________________ "Upstate New York? Where you are infested with Bagels and have no place to sleep?!?"
  2. :wink2: Thanks for the compliments guys. Glad to see others liked what I scribbed out. Ren, I wrote it off and on over the course of around 3 hours. Surfing the net, listening to both HA scores, and scribbling notes, themes, and rhymes. It all just kinda came together. I want it to be Chrismas now, too. 8O -- Matt, thinking that he now has HA score permanently stuck in his head for all eternity _______________________ "My Bagel Was Airsick!"
  3. Ren, after much listening to the Home Alone soundtrack over and over and over ... LOL ... here's what I came up with: (I) Candles in the window, Shadows painting the ceiling. Gazing at the fire glow, Feeling that gingerbread feeling. Stockings o'er the fireplace, Orn'ments lining the tree. Soft snow tickling my face, Moments preserved in my mem'ry. Tender gazes. Warmth and comfort. Loved ones smiling back at me. Somewhere in my mem'ry, Lies the joy of Christmas. Living in my mem'ry, All of the music All of the magic All of the fam'ly, home, here with me. (II) Sleigh bells jingle laz'ly, Friends and fam'ly together. Windows frosted haz'ly, Magical, crisp winter weather. Wreaths hung on the front door, Sitting on grandpa's knee. Stories, legends, and lore. Told to me, now in my mem'ry. Precious moments. Special people. Happy faces, I can see. Somewhere in my mem'ry, Christmas joys all around me. Living in my mem'ry, All of the music All of the magic All of the fam'ly, home, here with me. A few notes: - Since it's the main point of the song, I felt it important to use mem'ry at the end of each second stanza. Also, it's a convienient, useful rhyme. - And also I felt it important, even though you said not to, to use the "Somewhere in . . . all of the family" stanza twice. Since it's the main emotional grabber, I thought that by using it twice, the "audience" would be like "oh, we remember this" . . . but I still changed it slightly to match the words used in track 15 of the HA score. I figured it could be slowed down the second time and the last note held longer for greater emotional tug. Or something like that. IDK, upon listening to this whole thing, it made sense to me to have it in there twice. These were just my thoughts while writing this silly thing. I blame the fact that's it's after 3 am and that I've had lots of coffee. Christmas lyrics in August CAN be done, but it IS tough. Hope these can be used / inspire you to write something better! -- Matt, who's one of those people who reads the boards almost every day but posts less than once every blue moon _______________________ "My Bagel Was Airsick!"
  4. According to Soundtrack.net, it's from Telegrafisten (1993) by Randall Meyers
  5. Shaiman's Addams Family Values is still one of my obscure favorites
  6. I still like AOTC . . . but I MUCH prefer Potter. For me personally, it's just more fun. More exciting. And a NEW series . . . not that Star Wars is wearing out it's welcome, praytell . . . I'd reiterate my desire for a 2-disc Potter, but I think everyone here has already expressed this to death.
