Frankie Laine, R.I.P.

I just saw at the FSM board that Frankie Laine has died at the age of 93.

He's probably best-remembered as the singer of such Western movie/TV songs as "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral", "Blazing Saddles" and "Rawhide", but he also released literally hundreds of other singles and albums.

Sad news, but he lived to a very good age.

Apparently there's a connection with John Williams, who conducted for one of his albums.

Miguel?

Williams worked as conductor on four Laine albuns:

Deuces Wild (1961) http://johnwilliams.jw-music.net/int_disc/481017-2.htm

Call of the Wild (1962) http://johnwilliams.jw-music.net/int_disc/481017-2.htm

Wanderlust (1962) http://johnwilliams.jw-music.net/int_disc/487191-2.htm

Rest in Peace, Mr. Laine
