i don't know much about this score, however i jsut heard the main theme for the first time and it blew me away... completely. i've listened to it several times and have liked it more each time i've heard. i wanted to open a thread about this score because i'm curious about what you all think. just listening to this theme has made my day. it's so original, deeply emotional and pure brilliance if you ask me. the strings and piano play off each other so perfectly. what a glorious theme!

I like this score, but I listen more to Williams concert arrangements  on Pops Britannia.

K.M.

A great album! Love the 'Scotland The Brave' arrangement with full orchestra!

As for Jane Eyre, the entire score is a gem. Recorded in London around about the same time as Fiddler. A suitable salute to Vaughn Williams is present throughout, but features the unmistakable Williams (J) stamp.

I love it, Overture & Trip To.... (can't remember and the cd is in the car, help me out KM?) are my favourite cues.

well....actually it must be:

Lowood

or

To Thornfield

Ted, Jane Eyre is one of the best Williams scores (and Williams' second favorite). The main theme has a great piano accompaniment. The best tracks are (besides the main theme): To Thornfield, Festivity at Thornfield, Trio-The Meeting and Reunion.

I really do like this score, very emotional and deep...

I would recommand it to anyone who hasn't yet listened to it.

(I though it was JW' favorite scores... didn't he say so in an interview ?)

PBL - listening to the extract of CMIFC and who's loving it !!! :):P

Was it not 'To Scarborough' in Dracula!? Oh I don't know?
