Upcoming Screenings

No, I will not be going to all of these, but I figured I'd provide this list for Williams fans in the areas where these films are showing.

If you're in the Boston area, Raiders of the Lost Ark will be playing at The Brattle Theater May 9 through the 11th.

In Suffern, New York the Lafayette Theater will be showing the re-issued print of Superman - The Movie on May 24, while on June 21, they will be showing Raiders of the Lost Ark. I may try to get to this showing of Raiders since it's been almost 2 years since my last screening of it. I'd like to see Superman as well, but that date is not good for me.

No Ozu film in the 100th anniversary of his birth???? :)

You're so lucky, Neil. I would like to see Raiders in the theater. It might happen someday before Indy IV. Let's pray.

who?

Yasujiro Ozu, one of the best filmmakers ever

Unfortunately, I have seen only two movies of him (Tokyo Story and Munekata Kyodai), because they very difficult to find. I hope some of his films are re-released this year :)

And 2003 is also the 10th anniversary of Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. I would like to see this last one on the big screen.

once again, who.

why is he one of the best filmmakers ever, those two films hardly give him that status.

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, I was posting information about films scored by Williams, ergo no mention of Mr. Ozu, whom I'm sure was a very good filmmaker, despite the fact that the vast majority of us here have never heard of him.

1st, it was a joke! i put this emoticon for that purpose: :)

2nd, i don't say Ozu is one of the best filmmakers, because I can't judge his work by watching 2 only movies. I wish his films were rereleased this year. And many critics have said he is one of the best.

and 3rd, in my 2 previous posts, i wanted to continue talking about the screenings of the films scored by JW. That's why i ended both posts mentioning them.

you have to hand it to Scissorhands, he is a master of the obscure.

His JW choices are like no others on this board,

and he has a bizarre almost obsessive facination with many things Japanese.

It's very honorable. He has earned great face here at the JWFan board.
