Morn 8 Posted July 1, 2003 Share Posted July 1, 2003 the Music Branch of the Academy is considering some rule that says that any score eligible for Best Original Score must have a majority of the music comosed for the filmThose scores have so much new music, they don't fall into that catagory and the academy would notice that if they judged the scores properly.... Docteur Qui 1,544 Posted July 11, 2003 Share Posted July 11, 2003 I'm not sure where I read/heard it from, but I think the score has to have at least 70-75% of completely new score. Two Towers was borderline for a Nomination, but dumped after Chamber of Secrets was too, and the fact it won the award the previous year. I'm stuck between wanting the sequel scores to win Oscars, and I still want to hear the old themes again! Well, the Oscars are going to the dogs, it's not much to lose if he isn't nominated.
