Was at a club last night that played Pogo, and I was reminded of how awesome his mixes are. Although I must say, his LOTR mix was kind of disappointing - I'm sure that there's more than enough material to make an awesome mix... maybe I just have to give it a couple of listenings.

Anyone got a favorite Pogo mix? Mine is Alohomora.

Not really my cup of tea, juice or coffee. Thank the musical gods above that Williams has absolutely no interest in bringing anyone to do remixes of his music and slapping them on the album as some composers* do.

As a point of curiosity from a person who has no idea, do people listen to a lot of these remixes and are they popular?

*May or may not refer to certain Hans Zimmer.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

I don't think I know anyone who listens to pogo, and I don't know about popular but this one has 8.5 million views:

Upular has 6 million views, Alohomora 3.5...

These are strangely soothing...

I think I would want to listen to these when I am in a state of hopeless inebriation.

They're definitely good for what they are, but I prefer remixes that are mixed from....well, the music.

This got upstaged a long time ago. Its clear what route Shore should take for the Hobbit!

The operatic finesse of Sarumans new theme is simply stunning...
