The way that Williams evokes the sound of clocks in the sword fight is so brilliant and incredible.

Can someone tell me, what's the story behind all the lyrical versions of the themes on the soundtrack? Was the movie going to be a musical at first?

So, is there a way to get a digital copy of this? I ordered it from lalaland, and it just shipped. I'm very excited. But I realized I literally have no cd player anymore. Lol. My PC doesn't have one anymore, and I have no stereo. My only cd player is in my car. How the hell am I going to listen to this thing?

It is indeed different and at often times conflicting mp3 compression qualities. Many of the poor cuts in the song are also due to the problems in not only the different compressoins, but also the different recordings of similar themes in the different movies. It seems that the older trilogy soundtracks had more lower bass and the new soundtracks are much more brassy. Anyway as far as lingering in the moment i had tried taking that direction initally and did not like where it was going. I wanted the song to sound more like one that follows the flow, feeling, events, and emotion of the entire saga in a relatively shortened time. For example there's a section in it that i devoted entirely to the death and birth of anakin, in which it was the battle of the heroes, followed by the immolation scene, being the death of anakin and then a short burst of action music for the shortened (relatively) reign of darth vader and then the luke vs. vader theme from Jedi into the funeral of qui-gon/padme to be the death of darth vader. I feel this effect as well as the cuts weren't achieved as well in my star wars peice as it was in my lord of the rings one which i have now also uploaded to my site and can be found here if you are interested www.thedigitalninja.net/Site/randomfiles/music

I have put together my own symphony featuring music from all of the 6 star wars films. Running in at just over an hour you can give it a listen here. http://thedigitalninja.net/Site/randomfiles/. I hope to be able to add more music into it if extended ep2 and 3 soundtracks are released

The Fellowship of the Ring COMPLETE RECORDINGS 3CD set
cptgame446 replied to ST-321's topic in Tolkien Central
THe score itself is fantastic, I just found out about it and picked it up last night. Listened to the whole thing straight through immedeatly. The only thing that I'm curious about is the packaging. I figured if they wer giong to do all 3 they would do them like the DVDs. Fellowship in green, two towers in red and king in blue. But this one is red. Just makes me curious.- 930 replies
