  1. Well, I mean the movies . . . I don't think they're the same everywhere.
  2. When's that over here in Europe??? Anybody know???
  3. Well, the picture itself is almost 120 minutes!!! Ever thought of that?
  4. Now, that's not really fair -- I loved the three movies scored by JW (and not just because of the score, either). Oliver Stone is still, arguably, one of the best . . .
  5. Well, you should definitely get both. I already have the WotW DVD and I think the 2-disc set is one of the best. I love the plethora of specials, especially (no pun intended), what with over ten minutes footage of JW scoring the picture (filmed by no other than Spielerg himself). And as to the MoG album -- do you even have to ask???
  6. Well, I'm pretty sure Oliver Stone will at least approach JW. But somehow -- I don't know why, just gut instinct, I guess -- I don't think JW will agree to score the picture. One reason may be that the topic is too controversial -- another might be that JW has already other commitments (who knows, maybe even HP 5 or Indy 4). I voted for the second option, although of course no one can be sure yet. Perhaps Williams is just waiting for the rough cut of the movie to be shown to him . . . and THEN he decides. But again, somehow I'm hoping JW will NOT score the picture. BOTFOJ, JFK, and Nixon is enough already. P.S. Thanks, Tim.
  7. Well, 6 other people voted for Minority Rport (so far)!!! I think the score to MR is one of the most underrated in recent years. I just love most every track on that album -- I have to admit, this is one of those albums by JW that I really enjoy listening all the way through. There's the title track, Sean's Theme, Everybody Runs, Anderton's Great Escape, The Spyders, and so much more. Great action music, plus something for the heart, as well. A really great soundtrack (IMO, MR should have been nominated for an Oscar, although I can understand why CMIYC was).
  8. According to IMDB, he will. Actually, JW and James Horner will score the movie together. Could that possibly be true???
  9. Got it for 13.99 at Saturn today. Mine has the poster art with all the Triwizard Champions plus Ron and Hermione standing in front of the lake. It has an inlay above the actual booklet, with the same art but the German title. It's a good score. Not an outstanding score, and not as great as Williams' scores (#1 and #3 at least, I remember being underwhelmed by #2 in the beginning, so I'll give the Doyle score some time), but it's certainly nowhere close to being the worst score of any year. Marian - listening to it for the first time (outside the film). Yeah, you're probably right -- tell me in a few weeks (or days) what you think of the score.
  10. Do you mean "Williams/Cruise collaborations"? Neil Yeah, that's it!!!
  11. The weekly "Which Do You Like Best" poll. Ths week's topic: Spielberg/Cruise collaborations. Peronsally, I like Minority Report best . . . closely followed by BOTFOJ and Far and Away. WotW is last, although I've come to love that soundtrack these days. Oh what the heck, they're all good!!! LOL
  12. Yeah, I just watched it earlier tonight - the first Potter movie I've seen without having the score. I tried Saturn and Müller without success... will try again tomorrow. Can't afford Satyr. Marian - who only goes there when he has to (they're a great store, but I'm not rich). They had it at Steffl on Kärnterstrasse yesterday -- at 19.99, I believe. I listened to that jewel in the store, then decided on the spur of the moment not to buy it. Two things I noticed: first, the cover art looks different (is this the International or European edition?), and second, the track "Harry Potter's Love" is entitled "Harry Potter In Winter." Other than that, this has got to be one of the worst soundtracks of this year. Doesn't know how it works in the movie, though -- haven't seen it yet.
  13. No, not yet. They keep telling me it'll arrive on Friday -- but the movie opens on Thursday here in Austria, so the soundtrack actually comes out AFTER the movie's been released. Which is kinda dumb. P.S. Satyr used to have it, but they don't anymore. They get another batch on Friday.
  14. Hey, Indysolo, I've always wondered -- who's in that picture below your name???
  15. Yeah makes me wonder...how would his health be now? Not THAT discussion again . . . every few months people here seem to be overly concerned about JW's health . . . and probably he lives more healthily than any one of here (and probably outlive us all).
  16. Yeah, I bought mine also at Saturn -- in Vienna. Here it's One Disc for 17.99, Special Edition for 19.99.
  17. It's the same for me. It seems PoA was the culmination (thus far) of my Potter score/film anticipation. Ray Barnsbury I agree. I remember, a year ago, I was really -- and I mean REALLY -- excited about the movie, largely due to JW's score. I couldn't wait for the album to come out and I couldn't wait for the movie to open. But now I hardly feel any excitement at all. Bummer, actually . . .
  18. You, son of a . . . . no, I'm just kidding. Good for you. :mrgreen LOL : LOL P.S. Could you borrow that to me some time???
  19. Talking of which, am I the only one who has it? No, I have it too. I bought it in Japan about ten years ago . . . come to think of it, I could have bought the Original Temple of Doom soundtrack, as well. It was right there on the shelf next to the Raiders album. Stupid as I was back then, I didn't. AAAAAAARRGGGGGGG . . . . banghead
  20. Yep, it sure looks like it. But then again, come to think of it, it probably was a stage in L.A. -- it's the basement set.
  21. I thought I would, but I guess I won't. (Cause that would feel like betrayal . . . no, I'm just kidding.) I'm pretty strapped for money right now, what with the RotS and WotW DVDs, Memoirs of a Geisha CD and Titanic DVD (when they come out), movie tickets for MoaG and GoF, and so on . . . Am I missing out on something??? Is EVERYBODY gonna get the CD (or get it from iTunes)??? Just curious.
  22. What does everybody think of the featurette? I saw it yesterday, and I was blown away -- once again. You can see how two of my favorite scenes are scored ("The Ferry Scene" and "Escape From The City," among others), and John Williams is once again in top form. One thing about these featurettes I like is that they always make me wanna go back and listen to the entire album (which is probably one of the reasons they exist). This featurette is over 10 minutes long (somehow more detailed and deeper than the others in recent years), and I particularly liked the very last image -- John Williams in a blue windbreaker, listening to Steven Spielberg on the movie set explaining something. I thought that was a very memorable image.
  23. I don't know what I think -- I'd probably go with the third option, though. What do you think???
