  1. I heard on tv some lady say this: "And here's an interesting fact: John Williams gave up the chance to score Harry Potter 4 to score Memoirs." as far as I had heard, he took on memoirs because Steven was directing it and he and Steven do everything together. Then Steven dropped out but John Stayed in. Same thing with Harry Potter... he joined with Steven who then dropped out and gave it to Chris... who dropped out... lol
  2. I never said it was. You did EDIT: My bad, I read what you said "What's Ambient 6?" as you being kinda like "It's Ambeint 6 idiot!" LOL...Sorry about that I AM, though, talking about that Film Version of Goodbye Old Friend... You said that we delt with this months ago but I didn't realize as no one mentioned it. Where can I get this then?
  3. So do we already have that part then? And if so, where can I get it...
  4. sorry... mine must not have downloaded correctly... it isn't that track at all... I'm gonna try redownloading it... EDIT: I dunno abotu you guys... but that is NOT Ambient 6 for me. I just played it again. It's the same thing I downloaded the first time. If that music IS from that scene... it's not the music I'm talking about. Should the track only be 6 seconds long? I'm talking about the part where he says to Cody that he'll leave some for them and then gets in his ship and leaves, connects to one of those hyperspace things, is directed to where he's going, and dissapears. It has part of the Horn statement to of the "Binary Sunset" or Jedit theme...only part of it. I finally did get it ripped but it's not the best quality. Are you sure we're talking about ths same stuff or am I just going crazy lol
  5. Sorry... no one said anythign when I mentioned it... If you do have it ripped... where can I get it?
  6. HEY ALL! Breakthrough... I was right. They DO have a trailer for Battlefront II that has most of Cody and Obi-Wan speaking, it goes all the way to right in the middle of where the Obi-Wan leavs for Utapau. Gamespot.com has it. Search for "Battlefront II" and click on any of the "Official Movies," it'll bring up another window with the movie viewer in it. You can then click on the "related video" called "Star Wars: Battlefront II Ofiicial Movie 3." That has the music in it. Any ideas how to get it? Are these previews available for clean download? The other "Official Movies" have music on them too but I think most has been released. I'm not sure. 10 and another sound like possibly unreleased.
  7. I can't tell... but there is a ton of music on the menu to Battle Front II website... has all that been released...?
  8. The part where Cody Debreifs Obi-Wan is over the trailer/preview to that star wars game... Battle Front II... I was gonna try and rip it. If I could ge tmy hands on the trailer seperate from the website, I could totally do it... because it's just clena music... no sound effects... but I can't find the trailer to download. If anyone has it, send it to me, I can rip the sound from it and we'd have that entire section clean. EDIT: It may not be Battle Front... I don't know... I THOUGHT it was... it had trailers that were clear... just video with music over them. It showed Geonosis...
  9. You're absolutely right... at about 1:47 on to about 2:20ish... I havn't put it together yet... but you're absolutely right. Thanks!
  10. I also meant to mention that there is about 5-8 seconds of music that goes after "Hammonds Proposition" on the Making of Video. Problem is that it's heavily laden with dialogue. You can't really hear it. It's really just a chord in the strings and brass with the harp outlining it and then a small incomplete statement of the raptor/rex theme in the wind I believe if memory serves. That isn't on this but it's something I've considered trying to clean in some shape or fashion. It's never in the movie so it would be an "extra." I was curious, a lot new finds are made available on this website, could I make this available and how would I go about doing that I guess. Or would that be a foux pas?
  11. Hey all! Just wanted to put it out there: I just finished re-doing (for the 4th time) my Complete Jurassic Park soundtrack. Right now it's up to...39 TRACKS....as opposed to...what 16? Bear in mind that 4 tracks are simply audio rips. I wanted to have just the sound of the rain on the roof in the tour car and the "boom" of the t-rex... and then the T-rex roar... There is a little of the Brachio's Singing, and I also added the sounds of the Dilophosaur and the T-rex Galli attack. I had some raptor noises but I took them out... My original idea was to have sounds from every dinosaur in the movie because like the music, those played such a beautiful role with creating the mood. My complete Track list is as follows (I will also explain some of the cuts and cleaning things I did after): 01) Opening Titles (Straight from the CD) 02) Incident at Isla Nublar *(Taken from CD along with a little rip of the ending from DVD) 03) Mining for Bones and Amber *(DVD Rip) 04) Hammonds Proposition *(DVD Rip) 05) Que Milagros Chaparrita -Source Music- #(DVD Rip) 06) Journey to the Island (Straight from CD) 07) Mr. DNA -Music- *(Rip from DVD) 08) A Dinosaur is Born (Edit from CD) 09) "You've Bred Raptors?" *(Rip from DVD) 10) Timmy & Lex #(Rip from DVD) 11) Jurassic Park Gate (Straight from CD) 12) Sick Triceratops (Edit from CD) 13) Storm Clouds *(Rip from DVD) --Only noise is the Thunder which is breif- 14) Dennis Steals the Embryos (Straight from CD) 15) Eye to Eye (EDIT from CD) 16) The Approach #(Rip of SFX from DVD --Rain on Tour Vehicle w/ t-rex step) 17) T-Regina #(Rip of SFX from DVD -- T-rex roar as exit gate) 18) Bring Back my Grandchildren *(Rip from DVD) 19) Nice "Boy?" #(Rip of SFX from DVD --Dilo sounds) 20) Between a Truck and a Long Fall (Edit from CD) 21) Finding Dr. Malcolm (Edit from CD) 22) The Great T-rex Chase *(Rip from DVD) 23) Imitation Brachiosaurus #(Rip of SFX from DVD -- Brach singing with Grant noise) 24) A Tree for my Bed (Straight from CD) 25) Remembering Petticoat Lane (Straight from CD)/ My friend the Brachiosaursu (Edit from CD) 26) Broken Eggshells (Edit from CD) 27) System Ready *(Rip from DVD) 28) T-rex vs. Gallis' #(Rip of SFX from DVD --Gallis' running and T-rex attack) 29) Muldoon and Ellie to the Power Shed (Edit from CD) 30) Hight Wire Stunts *(Edit from CD with 2 second intro rip from DVD) 31) Raptor in the Shed --Film Version-- (Edit from CD) 32) Clever Girl *(Rip from DVD with Edit from CD) 33) Kitchen Attack (Edit from CD with first half of T-rex Rescue and Finale) 34) T-rex Rescue and Finale (Edit from CD with JP theme in place of 25 seconds when T-rex kills raptors)35) Looking Back/Leaving the Island and End Credits (Edit from CD) 36) Burn it All -Hans Zimmer-- (Music used in Trailer) 37) Unused Raptors in the Shed *(Clean Rip from DVD) 38) Mr. DNA -Dialogue Version- #(Rip from DVD with Dialogue Present so music sounds clearer) 39) Jurassic Park Theme (Straight from CD) *-Denotes Cleaned DVD rip with MINIMAL sound effects and hiss #-Denotes DVD rip that has very noticeable soundeffects I posted this to dispell some myths as well. It took me until tonight to realize that EVERY OUNCE of music from certain tracks had been released and that most of what I had could be re-done to reflect that. For example, Looking Back is an edit from "Remembering Petticoat Lane." Raptors in the Kitchen is an edit from mostly "The Raptor Attack" and some from "Eye to Eye," more specifically, the "Muldoon and Ellie to the Power Shed" part. I then addded the first Half of "T-rex Rescue and Finale" onto it. Clever Girl was another track that I found interesting. The first half was never released excpet for the four note motive in the begining (negligable) but the part right after he says "Clever Girl" WAS released in "The Raptor Attack." I also merged one of my favourite tracks, Remembering Petticoat Lane with "My Friend the Brachiosaurus" purposely because my burner always puts 2 seconds between tracks and those two should run seemlessly together. I actually was able to have them meld together cleanly by editing the begining of "My Friend.." and turning down the upper registers, which nearly neuttralized the strings, and allowed for the horn to nearly be alone in it's domincance over the fade out of "Remembering..." It also wasn't until recently that I realized "T-rex Rescue and Finale" didn't have the JP theme statement when the Rex enters, so I added that in as well. I also merged "Looking Back" with "End Credits" simply because they fit well that way, and there's almost no point in having a track of like...10 seconds. They also flow and can meld better I believe this way. I also edited the End Credits as it is in the Movie with that 5 second or so Cut before the harp gliss and the full orch pulls in. Many people will notice one track for the first time: Que Milagros Chaparrita. I added that because I love that song. I could not find it anywhere except on some extreamly obscure Mariachi cd that I couldn't find anywhere and couldn't get off of the internet. I ripped it from the DVD. It has almost all the sounds present in that scene--yes, the chickens too which at one point sound like they're singing along with the music. Everything except the dialogue. It isn't that bad of a rip eaither. I also took the Liberty to add some bonus tracks to the end such as "Burn it all" from Hans Zimmer's score to "Backdraft" so that people would have the music from the Trailer. I'm contemplating editing it together with the JP music to make a track of music from the trailer. I havn't yet though... still debating. Another interesting track is "Unused Raptor in the Shed." It wasn't until recently I realized that it was called that, and if you listen, it ends with the 4 note Raptor motive which IS in the movie, but everything before that isn't, so really, "Unused Raptor in the Shed" should be part of "Clever Girl." Again, not something I plan to do but may do. Mind you, this was made for my personal enjoyment, hence the creative liberty on it (adding the sfx.) But anyways, I just thought I'd put it out there because this site has a list of the complete Cue list and it's not entirely accurate and I know how hard it was for me to find information on the music to JP and how this might help someone. Enjoy! ps: If anyone thinks I should make the trailer edit or the others I mentioned, let me know... I'm still debating. hehe I also ment to mention that this the music as it is presented in the movie which means that some cues are missing a few seconds here and there as heard on the CD. I thought about adding the complete cues to the end of the soundtrack but I mean, if you have the soundtrack, you have those 5 seconds and such so there's no real point.
  12. You know what, I just realized, that a little bit latter, there is some clear drum patter, and If you cut and copy it, you can complete nagate everything I just said lol...
  13. That was another problem I had yes. I believe the way I fixed that was merging it into one drum beat--the first--rather then have two becuase like you said, It felt odd like something was off. It may not be the correct thing, but it's what I did and It sounds right at least. That is a different spot then the problem I was having. I had mine at about... oh I can't give you a time because mine is all edited... it's the spot where Obi wan says "They over shot us." and then Anakin says "They're comming around." and the horn has this high note. that kinda fades out and then you get that boom boom.... booom boom of the timp. again. I dunno if anyone will know hat I'm talking about but there's a part where two horns play this triplet then duplet and it sounds like something from W of the Worlds horns. Anyways, in the original soundtrack, the horn note it much lower and you can't have them together because it doesn't sound right, but you need that timpani beat otherwise you loose what's going on... so I had to merge three things, the bf2 track I believe it was, along with a clip from the movie--so that you hear the misles turning around--and its like 10 seconds before you Anakin does that spinning thing. for me... it's 4:05 into the COMPLETE edit... It's the Action2 track at 45-47 seconds in--minus the timp roll. It would then cut to the area in the original soundtrack at 3:15. that Horn note in the ORIGINAL sountrack is too low compared to what it should be in the movie or in Action 2 at 45-47. Is that clearer?? heh... PS: I love Voyager(have all the season), and The Doctor was one of my favourite characters!
  14. Oh that's cool. I will just save the project then and wait to see. Thank you again, all of you who helped, and put so much effort into this.
  15. I think I misunderstood, but I was curious, there's a spot in "The Boys go to Battle" or what not where the buzz droids are on Obi-wan's ship and Anakin is trying to get them off... and when the last one flys off you hear the as you called it "Rebel theme" statement. I was curious, was that suppose to be one of the files that was put up or was that no there? And if not, where can I get that because it's one of two spots I have left that are still reliant on the film rip. the only other spot is when Anakin says "they're comming around" but the released version has a different horn note than the real one so you kinda have to fade them together with the movie a little otherwise it sounds odd... but that's ok... one or two seconds of the movie is fine... But that last part, is there any way to ge tthat?
  16. I checked again, and I'm missing 26 seconds of the begining of the track as Roy walks into the ship. The part I cut starts with a little chime and then like...5 seconds latter has the vocals commig in. I dunno. I'll have to see if your version has more music than mine. I'm just kinda anal sometimes with this stuff. I never understood why they write the damn stuff if people arn't gonna get to listen to it... I dunno... I mean, is it sooo wrong to ask that they release all the music??? lol...it's not like it's doing anthing sitting in the archives... And sometimes it gets lost ie: Return of the Jedi, or destroyed ie: Towering Inferno... I mean, if they just realsed it, there would be something to go on... Oh well... I can understand from a marketing stand point, that if they wait some time to release it all, it can be used as a marketing scheme--that I fall into. heh... but still... at SOME point, they need to release it... Like maybe, heaven forbid, after John has passed, they should go through his entire collection and re-release complete albums all the way through. The "John Williams" definitive collection. I think I just wet myself...
  17. I checked out my Williams on Williams cd... and got almost all of the scene on the Close Encounters track... there was still maybe... 30 seconds missing. It says that there are three cd's availiable with inside the spaceship on them--Williams on Williams, Williams Greatest Hits (1969-1999), and JW with Boston Pops--but are they all the same recording? and are any of them complete? lol... I'm a completist and since I have a music editor I can clip them together. I've done that so far... I just need those like few more seconds. I'm still trying to figure out where that scene went in the scheme of that track because as far as musically... It looks like it went right after the huge swell, and before the build back up where the ship takes off... is that correct? anyone know?
  18. I was curious weither any of the old soundtracks or maybe the one I've seen pics of... the ever elusive "alternate cue" close encounter cd, if that has the cut scene music too. There's a scene on my CEOT3K dvd of Roy in the ship and the music that plays I've only heard one place, and that's on the "Williams on Williams" cd. I was curious if there was other music like that anywhere else.... Or if that's really the only recording of that cue...
  19. For me it's the same disk as JP, but the idea is the same. The End Credits for "Making of Jurassic Park," where ever you have it on a tape or dvd or what not... those end credits have that track--Unused Raptor in the Shed--playing over it.
  20. what for the galli? the one from the end credits of the making of? try watching it the way I described... it's sooo cool... I havn't tried with the gallis but I KNOW it works with the raptor in the shed... as far as possibility for galli... sure...I dunno EDIT: MY dvd won't get to that point. It's dead. It's all scratchy ... ...all the more reason to buy the new version I suppose.... it's only $18...damn, you could get the first one alone on dvd for that lol
  21. I know... some of it does... others sound more classical or like they were meant to be used only in that context... like when they show the old old version of the Lost World... My only question then becomes, how woul some of that stuff work with JP... maybe some of it Mr. DNA or alternates... but past that, I dunno how they'd work. How long was it before the canceled the trike scene? That would use playfull music. I know they made the baby trike but they cut it... how late in production? Would John have written anything for it? EDIT: I also think it's worth mentioning that the 10 or so extra seconds I heard in the Making of thing, those actually go on the end of "Hammonds Proposition." It's like an extra swell of a chord with a slight hint of what's to come. It has part of the t-rex theme... cut because the scene is shorter than the piece
  22. It's funny you ask. I just got to that part. I'm wondering if at the end it'll say what music was in it because there is definately music not from JP in the making of JP... and I wonder what it really is... I'm watching it now. When it's done I'll check for what music was in it.
  23. That does clear up something actually! Thank you! I recently aquired another "Complete Jurassic Park Soundtrack." It named what I've always called the "Action Montage" as "Unused Raptor in the Shed." I'm curious now... I'm gonna go watch the movie with that in playing instead of what Is really playing. That did help! THank you! EDIT: Interesting Discovery! I had my complete soundtrack playing, and I had muted the movie. Well... at the end of "Unused Raptor in the Shed" you hear a quiet muted horn playing the raptor motive. Well. The first thing I heard when I unmuted the movie was that EXACT same thing... instrumentation, octave... everything ... ie: that same part of the music. So... it leads me to believe that the next part of that SAME track would have been the unreleased begining to "Clever Girl," or when muldoon is attacked. The end of it is released... it's on the "Raptors" track... EDIT 2: Yes! I figured out that if you play the track starting the VERY SECOND that the music stops, right before the raptor emerges, it fits so perfectly that if you unmute the movie, it's really cool! REALLY suspenceful! ALSO..that part I mentioned... as the begining of Muldoon's attack, they line up perfectly as well!... Cool huh!
  24. Hey all. I was curious: A lot of the scores that are on this site include a little information on what was recorded when and what order and on what reel and so forth. I was wondering, does anyone have this information on the Jurassic Park score. I always wondered what music had been recorded for the movie beacuse, well, it's interesting that the only unsed tracks we know of are "Eye to Eye" and what many people call the "Action Montage," or the end credits from Making of Jurassic Park. I did notice, however that on the Making of Jurassic Park video, there is a breif moment near the end when they talk about the compound or maybe it was the road sequence, and you hear about 10 seconds of extra music that I'd never heard before. I just think it's funny that the only way we know of what about the Action Montage is through that making of film, and without it, we'd have no knowledge of it's existence which makes me wonder how much OTHER music there is out there that was recorded for the film that we don't know about. Hence my wondering if anyone knows what the recording schedule was and perhaps that would give some clue about what should be there... and then maybe what isn't. Thanks for any help.
