  1. Dude, somehow I'm almost glad that you hardly ever tackle current scores. Otherwise I would have no reason at all to design covers myself I have a few good sources for Photoshop mockup templates: https://www.flyerwrk.com/collections/mockups https://blkmarket.com/product-category/mockups/music/ https://graphicriver.net/graphics/product-mock-ups/packaging/discs?sort=sales#content https://creativemarket.com/search/disc-photoshop-mockup?categoryIDs=0
  2. Impressive... most impressive. We will follow your career with great interest.
  3. Wow, brilliant work mate! Where can I get these mockup templates? I absolutely need these in my ever growing collection. *insertdarthgriviousgif*
  4. I worked a bit more on the Avatar films and even made a new blog post about it.
  5. Bones and All (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) The Witch (Mark Korven) Avatar: The Way of Water (Simon Franglen) By the way, I just noticed while recreating the design that the text and logo in the original Avatar soundtrack cover are not centered horizontally, for whatever reason. I'll probably have to remake that as well now. ***EDIT*** Here they are (plus a few more)
  6. Good to know that labels are out there googling for source material just like we do.
  7. Wow, congrats on the gig! Have you been contacted by Intrada out of the blue or how did this come about? You seem like the perfect match for Intrada's classical releases anyway to me and I'm surprised you're not their regular go-to-guy yet
  8. Well I can, but what for? There's no Hobbit Symphony out there, or is it?
  9. The Lord of the Rings Symphony (Howard Shore) Expansion of my existing LotR/Hobbit collection. CD versions: Vinyl version:
  10. That's fascinating to read, thank you! 4000x4000 is huge, holy cow! Your workflow is almost a kind of reverse engineering. I've done this on many of my tribute covers as well, and I have to say it's really one of the best ways to learn new techniques. Do you mind recommending me a good upscale tool for Photoshop? Or did you mean the built-in resizer? I regularly use letsenhance.ai, but you never know beforehand what you're gonna get. A good Photoshop plugin would certainly be more helpful. Also, nice to meet a fellow designer who removes the GettyImages watermark by hand as well. Those greedy bastards surely won't get any money from me
  11. Your covers are always so incredibly sharp and vibrating, what's your secret? e.g. Cannon, what changes did you make to it? What did the source image look like?
  12. Hi there @Steffromuk! Great to see that you've found your way over here from the FSM Board I'm a long time admirer of your work, your Flickr page is always one of my go-to places when I look for a certain cover. And your covers are among the best I have ever seen!
  13. The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit (Howard Shore, Bear McCreary) Sorry for this giant dump, but I've been sitting a bit more on my LotR and Hobbits covers, changing lots and lots of details. These are as accurate as I can make them and I consider them to be final. Alternate colours will come later. Hope you like em! CD versions: Vinyl versions:
  14. I'm willing but you have to know that the elvish runes and the map are baked into the image. So if you don't give a damn about the map in the background, I can just change the film title and give it a go. Or you're willing to wait a little longer? Because since the covers above are based on the original Vinyl sleeves, I'm currently working on alternate versions which will be assembled from individual graphic assets. But that will still take a while.
  15. The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit (Howard Shore, Bear McCreary) Remakes and/or custom edits of the original designs with enhanced typography (fonts, spacing and kerning) and graphics (shadows, contrasts and placement) for seamless transitions on your digital media librabry.
  16. The Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore, Bear McCreary)
  17. I'm not enough of a LotR, Shore or Bear fan to allow me to give an opinion on the score. But I read through the thread and as far as I understand it, Amazon doesn't have the rights to use existing LotR material, whether it's set/prop designs or, well, Howard Shore's music, right? Why in God's name didn't they buy those rights? Did they not want to or were they not allowed to? It can't be because of money, can it? IMHO Shore's music could have been, even should have been, the most important connector between the films and the series.
  18. Don't know if you guys appreciate scores like these, but anyway here are some of my newest creations:
  19. But he is also still old.
  20. I have no fucking clue tbh.... it has to be something classic and timeless, but still captivating and visually pleasing. Maybe that's why Disney hasn't gotten off the ground yet...
  21. Get the new Star Wars - The Complete Saga Target Exclusive Box Set !! This newly released box set comes with a few distinguishing characteristics that you won’t find anywhere else. First, it re-issues the original releases of each of the nine soundtrack albums (no Special Editions!) which is why this deluxe box set deliberately not intended for completists, but for purists and true die-hard Star Wars fans who still listen to the 1977 Star Wars album, for example. Another very exclusive and special feature is the inclusion of three additional CDs which feature the most iconic and best-loved highlights from each trilogy. A careful selection process has been conducted to ensure that each film and more importantly each trilogy is represented as best as possible. The perfect background music for any Sci-Fi or fantasy nerd party! The complete package comes in a thick cardboard slipcase made from recycled organic paper originally produced for free tickets to Star Trek fan conventions, which unfortunately never came into use due to lack of demand. The high-quality box which houses twelve CD digipacks. Each soundtrack album was digitally enhanced and remastered (of course!) and does indeed deliver a sound quality unheard of. That’s why The Complete Saga is the first and only Star Wars soundtrack release worldwide to get the official WrG Records seal of approval (those of you in the know know….). This Target exclusive is limited to very few copies and will only be sold in selected online retailers and only on full that's no moon nights between 19:77 and 20:19 o’clock. You won’t want to miss this! Use this link to claim your exclusive pre-order rights. Or be the lucky customer with order #66 and get a free frying pan set on top!
  22. Some of you might know my Deluxe Editions Collection that has been available on my blog for a couple years now. I recently gave it a bit of an overhaul by adding the following 3 covers and thus bringing it closer to my own credo of "depicting famous locations before or long after certain key events". I have also added many alternative version to my blog post so please take a look if you're interested.
