  1. I never bothered to start the 3 month trail because I already have iTunes match (which uploads iTunes to my personal iTunes so that I can stream from my phone) but lately I've heard quite a few good things about the service. Does anyone here know if apple music works with iTunes match?
  2. It's confirmed that Jackman is scoring Civil War http://filmmusicreporter.com/2014/08/26/henry-jackman-to-return-for-marvels-captain-america-3/
  3. It would have been good for the continuity to bring him back. However I think the avengers score wasn't so good. His captain america score was way better. The avengers score had some good themes like the helicarrier, avengers theme etc but as a whole, it was rather weak IMO. I would have liked Elfman to score the whole thing.
  4. After having seen the movie I must say some cues really stuck with me. The score was played very softly though. Even cues like Rise Together were barely audible. Was probably my cinema though. Great movie! Elfan's material is the best, but Tyler has some pretty good cues as well It works well in the movie even though as many have pointed out, it sounds kind of incoherent. Tyler really hit the mark the Ultron scenes! The score shines in it's heroic moments where the new theme plays, which in my opinion is better than Silvestri's original theme. It would really be interesting to hear the sessions as we'd maybe get to know what rejected music was written!
  5. Yes! What did you think about the tracks composed by Tyler? For me Iron man 3 and Thor 2 are stronger efforts on his part.
  6. Well Silvestri's score had some great cues but in general the score was boring. I have listened to 6 tracks from Age of Ultron and it sounds promising
  7. The second track is very interesting! It contains Silvestri's theme! Well done Mr. Elfman! Hope he scores Avengers 3 and 4!
  8. The theme is awesome. However the score in general is a bit bland IMO. Cap also is my favorite one as a matter of fact. It has a really strong theme and some good classically orchestral music! It has to be said that Doyle couldn't write freely because of the director or the studio.
  9. Yeah, these aren't great scores but some themes are cool and as someone said, they have their moments (except for maybe winter soldier and the not so nice ones.) Also really looking forward to what elfman wrote for Age of Ultron! Hopefully he'll end up scoring Infinity War!
  10. Yes, for instance Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy are way better movies than the ones before The Avengers.
  11. That might be true (I haven't listened to it, nor seen the movie) but I decided not to include it because as Stefanos said, it is not part of the MCU.
  12. So Avengers Age of Ultron is coming up in there coming week! Thought I'd make a poll and a thread where everyone can discuss the already released marvel scores and of course the upcoming ones! What's your favorite and least favorite Marvel scores in order, and why?
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Mo4w1NrznM I believe this is fake, but I'll let wiser minds than mine establish if it is or not.
  14. I heard some talk about it being too similar to national treasure but have no idea if it's THE reason. I've read all of the books and I actually think both Inferno and the Lost Symbol would make great movies. Inferno comes out in October
  15. Zimmer's work with Ron is very good. Listen to Frost Nixon and Rush and DVC for instance. They have nothing in common but all of them work great in the movie.
  16. Because Ron Howard stopped working with Horner in 2003 (The Missing) and then Zimmer did DVC and they've worked ever since (except for In the Heart of the Sea which was because of financial reasons).
  17. According to the filmmusicreporter Hans Zimmer is scoring Ron Howard's Inferno which is the 4th Langdon book. No real surprise as he did the last 2 but after his work in DVC and A&D, what are your reactions? http://filmmusicreporter.com/2015/04/04/hans-zimmer-to-score-ron-howards-inferno/
  18. Of course you're right, but many composers use ghost writers. Why all the hate towards Zimmer and not the other people who do the same thing...
  19. You have good points but if you listen to something like Interstellar (which he scored on his own) that isn't true. I hope Zimmer will start working more alone as it would probably result in more interesting sounding scores...
  20. Say what you want about Zimmer but unlike people like Brian Tyler and John Ottman, he does actually give credit to his co-workers. I personally don't think he'll be very involved in the scoring process of Terminator as he is just the music producer, like he was on Doverent (which was scored by Tom Holkenbog) where he didn't contribute much.
  21. Yes, Tyler will probably get the main credit. According to IMDB, the movie is150 minutes long so maybe it will be 50/50 Tyler/Elfman. With Elfman working on Ultron, I can't but wonder if he'll end up doing Spider-Man in the future...
  22. Yes! A 2cd would be the best alternative. I am sure there would be complications though with the credit as Elfman got the "additional music" credit.
  23. Of course this won't ever happen, but it would be nice to have two albums. One with Tyler's music and one with Elfman's.
