hi ! very happy to see you !! well, me i released a new piano tribute, on hook : i did one on E.T too, still working on the video editing. ... anyway, i have a request as you ask ( ), i want to do a piano tribute to darth vader / the emperor and an another one to leia/luke/han, but i'm missing lead sheets. for it so i can do my arrangement (a lead sheet where i will improvise on it the whole tune). - the death of the emperor, - the death of vader (i have a very simple one found on a well known sharing website not sure if i can use it) , - the "emperor arrives" is incomplete on the songbook i think so not enough informations to use it to do my tribute (but maybe it is enough, i don't know, i only kown what i must play when i see the sheet, as i can't listen to music anymore), and last but not last, - missing the immolation scene with Vader at the end of ROTJ. - someone already did the transcription for me of approach the deathstar. my second tribute to han/luke/leia is blocked as well. i have the handwritten sketch for han & the princess, i have princess leia's theme, i have luke & leia, but i'm missing brother and sister, last tune i need to do the arrangement. if in this list, you would accept to do one of them that would be amazing. i'm dying each day to not being able because of my hearing issue to do the transcriptions myself so i search people who would accept to do them but it's not easy. two nice guys accepted to do approach the star and the death of yoda, but difficult to find any other guys who accept to do this... voila .

Hello There, maybe some of you know me, i'm the one who posted the 80 videos of john williams on youtube there : www.youtube.com/user/martyprod2 i'm as well a piano player and composer, and i record for fun sometimes, piano tributes to my favorite composers and musicians. as i'm suffering from a weird hearing illness, all my tributes recorded from christmas 2011 to today have been recorded without hearing what i was playing. They are all improvised. On this one, i did an exclusive one on john williams, the first one of a very long serie on Mr williams. there will be 6 episodes (of course) on Star Wars and Episode 7 and others will be about other movies he scored ... the first one is about Yoda. it includes french and english subtitles, and soon, italian and spanish subtitles as well. no idea how it's working to apply for a job in such a company. it's not like we're talking about a normal publishing company. it's THE compnay who publish everything. i'll be curious how the arrangers who work there and who not does a very good work all the time found their job. (i never saw a piano arrangement done on their songbook, that i could be happy with.). when you see the "theme of star wars", as a single sheet for .. recorder, flute, tuba, basson, etc ... for 4$ ... 500 thousands editions of one tune. but never did the sheet of ... other tune ... asteroid field ? brother and sister ? death of yoda ? yoda and the force ? etc ... i had to hire someone or do the transcription myself in the past to play them and study them. the only released full score sheet in the world about soundtrack is williams and the signature editions. everything else are "arrangement". there is not a single other composer who have officially his full score published commercially. but, there are thousands and millions of "arranged by" ... who care about something arranged or orchestrated by an unknow guy ? we just want the real thing. this is a very big frustration work. and thanks to a guy like williamsmusiclover who does this and the people who found a way to access to the manuscrits and share them. because , who could play the crazy fighting piece of empire strike back ? how many people are able to read the manuscript sketche of williams hand ? and play it on a piano ? not many . (i'm actually working on my next tribute, The Black Hole from john barry. found by random the songbook of it, i never knew it was existing until last sunday lol. and i searched it during 30 years.fortunatly i can read handwritten manuscrit , sketches or full orchestra and arrange them for piano , but it would be so much easier if they could publish them ... lol ... .

unfortunatly he can't. a good friend of mine tried to have the authorisation to sell an arrangement of john williams, and it's refused because 1) williams gave all the right to publish his music to hal leonard publishing. 2) hal leonard publishing only allow sheets done by his internal workers. that's mean that if you're not someone who work as an arranger for hal leonard, you're not allowed to publish anything on john williams music, because they don't sell any licence to do it. this is a very very big frustration for my friend, myself and certainly a lot of other people too, as this "copyright" f*** issue forbidd anybody to publish anything commercially based on williams music.

hi, which piano do you use ? is it a U model ? can't listen, but are you happy with it ? i plan to buy a real piano soon to replace the one i have here who is not mine, but i must buy it without trying it ... and i'm a yamaha lover (studied on yamaha at the concervatory, own a motif 8). don't have money enought to buy a disklavier model, so i'll install in it a midi interface from an another brand. can you tell me which one do you own, if you're happy with it, if the action is great etc ... ? thanks (i'm completly off topic, so feel free to reply to me in private ) (sorry fo the others )

hi, yes, you put your username on it. on mine, i put my nickname (not my real name) that i use as a musician (i'm recorded under this name officially at the french copyright company). so i was thinking if it's can be an issue or not. because i don't think we're allowed to put any copyright on this. so i didn't put a © on it, just my nickname, but ... so you did well, as you didn't put your real name. i can't put my username as it's eaasy to find that behind martyprod, there is didier martini (it's written on my youtube account). i credits everybody who help me. on the sheet i did for the tribute to williams, a guy i met on a well known sharing website, did the lead sheet of death of yoda for me (while i did the yoda and the force one from a transcription i did 17 years ago). i put my name on it and his name. i put this on the video as well in the end credits. i watched today all the sheets you put here. it's a crazy amount of work. 30 pages of transcriptions for the battle of hoth. it's crazy !!! you really don't need to tell "i'm sorry" to take some rests, we must thank you for what you have done and that you very nicely accepted to share this sheets with us , because it's incredible. hal leonard publishing forbidd any people to publish them, even if we want to buy a licence, they refuse, and only accept internal transcription job from they company workers. i know how much hard work it is to do transcriptions. i did during one full year in 1996 all kind of transcriptions to get better at it, from jazz (guitar solos, keyboard, piano soloing) to williams, silvestri, alan menken materials, lead sheet, piano stuff, sketches ... after a while, i couldn't do it anymore... (i need to put all this in sibelius and share it but i found no software who work with my manuscript to transcode them in sibelius , they all fail (and my manuscript are very well written ) . it take a lot of energy and concentration and what you do is much harder work than anything i could do, , an you did a wrriten piano reduction , i don't do that (because as i told, i'm an improvisator). i was only doing lead sheet , very few full piano transcriptions, and guitar / piano solo transcription from Rock or jazz artist. all the stuff i did in soundtrack was only lead sheet and chords to train myself to be able to hear "harmonies" in full orchestra. so thank you very much for everything you do, and thank you in advance for the stuff you'll accept to share with us in the future. have a good rest !

Hello there ! i want to thanks WilliamsMusicLover1138 for his amazing work ! it will help me a lot ! i'm doing a serie of tribute to williams video on youtube, using some of my transcriptions i did 17 years ago (i only does lead sheet as i was a jazz pianist and i never play arrangement from others, none of them never pleased me especially the songbooks ones. i do always my own, and they are all a one take improvisation on it not a writting arrangement. i usually take the sheet when something is available, make the lead sheet from it and improvise on it. when i did my transcriptions 17 years ago, i didn't do many of them and more than that, i was not an expert to it. as a jazz pianist, i'm mainly an improvisator, so i usually do a lead sheet of williams music and improvise on it, and as i have an hearing disorder, i record all this without hearing what i'm playing. i just finished my first exclusive tribute to john williams (i did a previous tribute but to christopher reeve and include can you read my mind and somewhere in time. but this time, i put online the lead sheet that i made and used to do my tribute + the transcription of the arrangement / improvisation of what i played and improvised on this video. the tune include Yoda and the force and Death of Yoda (lead sheet on death of yoda has been done by a friend).. you wan watch the video here : and download the sheet here : http://didiermartini.com/tribute-to-john-williams-episode-1/ the next one i'll do will be a tribute to leia/luke/solo, and will include princess leia's theme + luke and leia + han and the princess + brother and sister that a friend of mine will do the lead sheet for me, as actually, i can't listen to music anymore. if you don't mind, i would love to have your authorisation to use your sheets and make the lead sheets from them, and put them online (for the ones who can read lead sheet = melody + chords names). if if i do a recording of it, i'll do the piano transcription of my improvisation on it as well. i don't know if you would accept to do lead sheets as well ? i'll certainly use some of your sheets for my tribute videos, i'll have some request, as i can't do anymore any transcription (without ears, it's a bit difficult lol), so i usually do them from the manuscript sheets from williams himself (sketch) or the full score that we can find at some places on the internet. but there are a lot of tunes who have never been available. one of the williams tunes who has never been transcribed are materials from Return of the jedi, any other tunes except the main title from always, and there is almost no material available from starwars 1 2 4 5 6 (what is available on songbook is very very bad and very few tunes and there is only in sheets the starwars suite from the signature edition, handwritten sketches for empire and the complete full score for sith. having any transcription from these movies are a pure dream and joy. i saw you started to do some of them, and want to thank you very much ! i just warm some of you. only the lead sheet is a transcription of the recording on my sheets. the piano is a transcription of the improvisation i did on it and put on my video. just for curiosity, here is my tribute to christopher reeve (can you read my mind + somewhere in theme from barry) and the first video done with my friend and horn player Marc Papeghin on marion's theme, that certainly some (if not all of you) know who marc is (the best horn players on youtube and the craziest horn arrangemer actually available) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erxxeAnG-BA one last question for music lover ! i see you didn't put your name on your transcription. something that i did. maybe i did a mistake and must i remove my name on it (maybe because of copyright issues if these sheets are shared ?) thanks for the information ! and Thanks for your amazing and hard work !!!

Hey Quint, first, i want to warm you. this is not the jurassic park video that i have in Digital Recording on DVD. i have 3 boston pops show in these quality. 2 with williams. one of the show features the A.I duet with josh grpban and lara fabian, lara fabian singing evergreen, far and away tune played by a guitar player and some other tunes that i don't remember. they are already on my account, but i never uploaded the maximum quality of them, it was avi files produced many years ago and who were on my previous account (closed now), the first martyprod ( lol) ... here is one of the video uploaded but not in full mpeg quality : the other dvd is the one with all the harry potter videos that i uploaded on my account. the third dvd i have is one conducted by lockhart, and featuring vanessa williams (amazing when she sings colors of the wind in an amazing white dress etc ..). i didn't posted this one yet. so must i repost the 2 dvd in full quality ?

Hello, i confirm this, as i'm the one who posted these videos as i'm Martyprod2 and that it's Miguel who sent me this footages. i'll never have enough words to tell him thanks to have sent me these footages. i hope miguel, that you're still ok that i post them on youtube and share them with so many people. part of my collection come from miguel. other part come from my own recordings (easy to find them, they have the Onyx german TV Channel Logo on it and the PBS logo come as well from private recording i requested in 2002/2003 to a very close friend who recorded them in USA for me and who are Digital Mpeg2 recording done on a DVD recorder. i don't know if i must re-upload these ones in full video quality and sound or not. because the quality is amazing as it's from digital TV. i have still some couples of videos to post from my own archives and i hope Miguel is still ok that i post the files that i didn't posted yet from what he sent to me because it's really too bad that some people keep these videos privatly. these videos must be shared with everybody. it's film music history. one anecdote : i'm suffering from an hearing disorder, and i have never listened to 99% of the videos i posted and still can't. so other people enjoy them for me , in some kind .

thank you very much ! upcoming project will be an alan menken tribute with an amazing singer from florida ... and the next tribute will be a tribute to yoda playing yoda and the force, death of yoda (i'm still searching a way to find the sheet for this ), and yoda's theme. we will do something special with Marc soon too (the horn player, check him here : www.marcpapeghin.com if you don't know who he is, his version of asteroid field is just insane :(yes, i can sometimes listen to sound during few seconds) ). i will do using the same technic (no hearing) a tribute as well to one of my ancestor, who was one of the main influence, mentor and one of the teacher of mozart and johann christian bach. hi you're maybe right ... but i took the decision to put a message before each videos, as a strong message, that life is never ended except if you die. Mr Reeve showed that to us. his "physical issue" didn't stoped him to do big things ... i want to do the same, showing that even without the main thing to do what you live, there is always a way to continue your path ... even if it's hard ... hello, thanks for your comments ! to answer both of you, i'm not deaf and i'm not suffering from hearing impairment but the complete reverse. it's called hyperacousis, and i hear any sound so loud that it became pure pain. that's mean i can't listen to any sound, like water, piano, music, rain, freezer sound, Tv sound, etc i'm as well electricity sensible, so i can't use Flat LCD screen, or being close to any Wireless things, i spent a lot of time to find CRT monitor who was not giving me too much headachefortunatly.. because of this , i can't going out in the street as well, and i live in my flat since 2009 without having seen the outside world since then like in a prison, with my friend "tinnitus" and "silence" ... you're forced to live in silence, but in your head, there is no silence at all because of the tinnitus, only noise. the only way for me to continue to make music was to do it without turning the amp on ... so trying to "hear" the music in my head , and with he help of what i learned in musical theory and notation, i studied piano only during 3 years in my life (i'm mainly self teached) but i had the chance to have one of the best french piano player as a teacher and worked during 6 months as a jazz gig pianist, it helped me a lot. because it was in the jazz area, i could make music, as composer and improvisator without the need of a sheet. all of this make it possible to record music for me without hearing at all what i play. but there are some limits. the weirdest thing is that i didn't listened to the music i recorded yet. so you're listning this tribute , where i did the video editing too where there is sound, without hearing any sound. i want to thanks someone who is on this forum, the french horn player, Marc Papeghin, who help me a lot to tell me where i did any video editing issue, or if my video is out of sync, if i did sustain issue in my piano playing, of if my recording just suck lol . i try to record everything in one take and first take only. 99% of all the tunes i did on piano are first take. well known issue : more take you record, more bad it become . other project will come soon using this technique. for now, i'm only posting cover on youtube. thanks for listening my story

Hello Guys , after some years of disapearing from JWFan.net due to some health hearing issue, my friend marc told me that someone created this topic with my name in it, so i come to say some hello here. i would like to tell some things. there is actually 72 or 74 videos of John williams on my actual Youtube account. (that's mean that the account can be closed ANYTIME lol). and it's my second account. as it's martyprod2. it's happened before for something very stupid who is not related to copyright infringment (that's the funny side of the story). from JW, more will come. i took the decision to put online EVERYTHING i have from JW. not sure if i'm the one who put on youtube the most JW videos out there. there is some consequences. the John williams DVD trading community will maybe be not happy (expeciatlly the ones who sell these DVD-R or use them to acquire stuff that others refuse to trade. i'm sorry for them. and the reason is simple. i don't like people who keep for themselves something who could please so many people. comment that i got about the vangelis videos i posted some times ago was about this "thank you to posting things that other Sell very high on ebay, posting the videos on youtube will kill the selling community of these videos".. .i get this as a compliment . but i want to tell an amazing thank you to someone who is here, and who has been very very nice with me, because he's the one who completed my collection of John williams material in Video. i'm not sure if he'll be ok that i tell who he is, but he's in this topic. i would like to thank him here publically if he accept it because without him, you'll not get soon more than 100 videos of john williams conducting on youtube but only my own stuff (i have lot of stuff, but not almost everything, and because of this man, i have almost everything). but because of my health, i stopped my collection in 2009. so that's explain why there is no new stuff. and i don't know if there are new ones. part of what i posted are from my own materials like the HDTV/PBS, the Onyx Videos, but some others come from this guy, like williams conducting the intro of indy III, beauty and the beast, the Japanese concerts, and including these two videos , from empire of the sun and home alone. this is HIM who deserve a big thank you, not me. i'm just the guy who edit the video, transform some of them in widescreen and put them on youtube ... so if the one who know "who he is" accept it, please, tell who you are or i'll tell it (but not without your authorisation.). so, expect more soon. by soon, i mean Interviews. as all of you noticed, i , until today, posted only Performance except one, the interview with edwards and july andrews. but on EACH (almost) boston pops concerts, there were small interview of williams. i took the decision to remove the interviews and to post only the performance and put and make a compilation like a great long interview of williams talking about all the movie he scored with these small interviews. it will take a bit of time to do. but i don't think these interviews are the usual "ass kissing" stuff that we can find on a dvd or who are too short, but things like williams in front of a piano and talking . again, some of these materials come from this guy who is on this topic and others come from me. Hello guys,(and girls) .. i didn't came here since one year and a half. not sure if some people remember me, i did some piano / horn collaboration with french horn player and arranger, marc papeghin in the past. i didn't come here since more than one year, because i lost my hearing and my capacities to make music, listening to music, playing music etc .. almost everything (and not only music) because of a 16 years long hearing trauma.(i'm suffering from permanant headache and oversensitive hearing sine 16 years now). and coming here on a music board and seeing everybody enjoying listening to music, and especially my idol, john williams, was, is and still is a pain in the a**. anyway i found some force (not the Starwars one !!) to come here and to show two tributes i did and posted on youtube. one to john barry , with the main title of out of africa, (if you ask yourself why there is the end of the black hole movie in the video and i'm playing the main title of out of africa, i will let everything guess .. not sure if someone will understand it ... but anybody can try. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2sEhJ9Mi0U and a tribute to christopher and dana reeve on the theme of somewhere in time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt_m-EMFuwU these tribute are not done by reading the piano usual sheet music available in the songbooks. i improvise/play on the melody and the chords i write from the songbooks or a full score (if it's available), like a jazz pianist would do it (i studied jazz piano in the past). so it's my own version of these tunes that i play, and not what has been written by a "guy" who did the piano transcription for the songbooks that i always hate, anyway ... all comments are welcome. these tribute has been made with the heart and with a lot of pain, in regards of christopher for some special reason regarding myself , and for barry, because ... well , john barry is something special to me ... he's the first one who got me into soundtrack music when i saw the black hole movie in theater when i was 5. i still remember all the red end of the movie on the screen at this moment. i recorded the barry tribute after spending one of the biggest sad day of my life, crying when i learned his death from my mother and spent a very depressive afternoon. i recorded this tribute the same day of his death, 4 hours after i learned his death. so everything i was feeling at that moment, i put it in this video, in the music i played, and in the pictures. i don't know if it made anything good or not, i didn't had the chance myself to listen to what i recorded more that two times. as i lost my hearing capacities again exactly one day later after doing this video. thanks for your comments... i will release some songs soon around some soundtrack composer, and a jazz album, but it's not the place i think to put any link for this in this post ... so, all my love to christopher and john, and thanks to everybody who will check my videos. any comments are welcome. thanks, Didier.
