  5. Thank you creating this thread. You can pre-order the CD from: https://shop.filmfestival.be/products/laurence-rosenthal-music-for-film-and-television For Rosenthal fans, there will be quite a few nice surprises as well, such as the world premiere release of music from Michelangelo, the unreleased revised version of the main title of Requiem for a Heavyweight, a new arrangement of Fantasy Island and other alternative segments. There is unreleased music from Young Indiana Jones and the Hollywood Follies on the album. The first part was released as "Broadway to Hollywood" on the 1995 promo but the second part of the suite has not been heard outside the film.

  8. The 2022 album is Mark Isham - Music for Film.
  9. Film Fest Gent presents: Mark Isham: Music for Film Performed by Brussels Philharmonic, conducted by Dirk Brossé Trumpet solos on selected pieces by Mark Isham & Tom Hooten Now available to order at https://shop.filmfestival.be/products/mark-isham-music-for-film Guest of honour at the 2022 World Soundtrack Awards on 22 October, Mark Isham has been one of the most versatile film composers of the past four decades. Equally known for his electronic music, his jazz work and trumpet performances, he has created numerous memorable scores for a wide variety of films and television series, forging entrancing and movingly honest melodies that have enhanced the stories they accompany time and time again. This is the first time that an entire album is devoted to Isham’s film and television scores. Spotlighting some of his very best work, it contains a unique selection from his massive oeuvre, including studio recordings of concert suites from 42, American Crime, The Black Dahlia, Eight Below, the Oscar-nominated score A River Runs through It and from his recent score The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Further highlights include the jazz-infused selections from Judas and the Black Messiah and The Moderns and a symphonic version of “On the Threshold of Liberty”, one of his best-known original compositions, which was also used to great effect in Rules of Engagement. The pieces from Bobby, Judas and the Black Messiah, Life as a House, The Nevers and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent are premiere performances for this album, re-recorded for the first time since the original score. This is also the first time that music from American Crime is released on album. Released during the 49th edition of Film Fest Gent in October 2022 and licensed to Silva Screen Records, the album Mark Isham: Music for Film is the 17th album in Film Fest Gent’s continuing series of annual film music albums, containing new studio recordings with Brussels Philharmonic and Dirk Brossé that give some of the world’s greatest scores an extended afterlife beyond the films. Discover the Film Fest Gent album series in our festival store: https://shop.filmfestival.be/collections/cd Tracklist “Prologue” from Bobby “Suite” from Eight Below “Suite” from A River Runs through It “Funeral” from Judas and the Black Messiah “Building a Family” from Life as a House “On the Threshold of Liberty” from Rules of Engagement “The Event Flashback” from The Nevers “Suite” from The Black Dahlia "Suite – Movement III” from American Crime “Les Modernes Suite” from The Moderns “Suite” from The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent “Suite” from 42
  10. Cheers for making this extensive overview. All of these recordings (except for the Genius of Film Music album, which is unrelated to the festival) have been produced by Film Fest Ghent in the context of the festival's focus on film music. If any of you'd like to support the source, you can find and buy all in-print albums here: https://shop.filmfestival.be/collections/cd Incidentally, all other Film Fest Ghent albums - except the Zimmer CD and the 15 Year WSA promo CD - are studio recordings. I believe you missed one promo album, which is a live concert recording of one of the earliest World Soundtrack Awards concerts featuring music by Delerue and Fenton. It's included in this book: https://shop.filmfestival.be/collections/books/products/moving-music-engelstalig-boek-cd-beroemde-filmcomponisten-aan-het-woord
  11. Thank you for the kind words Jay and Tom! It was a labour of love for all involved, and indeed, we hope interest in the physical editions of our annual albums remains.

  13. From 20 until 23 October, Film Fest Ghent again organizes a series of talks with many of the composers and other music guests at the festival and at the World Soundtrack Awards. Highlights are the extensive composer talks with Austin Wintory, Natalie Holt, Daniel Pemberton, Nainita Desai and Max Richter! Panel talks will also feature Eleni Karaindrou, Evanthia Reboutsika, Gavin Brivik, Florencia Di Concilio, Benji Merrison, Anthony Willis, Emile Mosseri and Carlos Rafael Rivera, among others. Check out the whole programme here: https://www.worldsoundtrackawards.com/programme/wsa-industry-days
  14. That's because the Public Choice list consists of film scores only, no videogame scores.
  15. Since the festival is in October, the cut-off date for the World Soundtrack Awards is in the middle of the year (June), so the eligibility period does not correspond to a calendar year.
