  1. Of course. Thank you. Do we have the sheet music for that source music? If not, is it indicated on any cue sheets, or are you making an educated (and obviously correct) guess?
  2. Here's a quick question: Why is "The Holy Grail" labeled 3m2a? Does the "a" mean that there was an alternate version?
  3. Are we sure of this? And were the piano cues composed by Williams?
  4. I'm not trying to say I am 100% sure I am right or anything, just that we have no proof one way or the other, and this seems to be the most likely case. NO way!!!! The biggest mysteries to be solved the sheet music pages we don't have are of course the 9m2 mystery, the tank chase sequence mystery, and just of course what the official cue titles are for all the ones we don't have. Hopefully you'll make the sheet music available to others to investigate as well I will certainly try. Hoping to get access to them soon, but it depends on a few things lining up in my favor. I'll keep you posted. So things to look for are: "Birds of Charlamagne / Keeping Up With The Joneses" - what's the story on these cues? Was "Joneses" composed for the biplane chase? "Belly of The Steel Beast" "On The Tank" "Indy vs. Vogel" - Which came first and why all the inserts? Specifically why is "Belly" so long and unused? Do we know for sure that the circus organ is a sweetner and not just burred in the sound mix of "Indy's First Adventure"? Did John Williams compose the Rope Bridge cue from ToD? and any other unknown cue titles I can find. And any specific questions for ToD and Raiders?
  5. There's no such thing as "9m2 New Opening". Just "9m2 New Ending". And we have the sheet music to it. It's the bootleg track. And we have the sheet music to 9m2 Final Ending. Its the new ending of the track as heard in the film. We just don't have the sheet music to the original 9m2. But I have no reason to believe that it's not "Keeping Up With The Joneses" from the OST/Concord I see. Well that clears some questions up - but I still have doubts, for the numerous reasons we've discussed on your site - that Williams would write "keeping Up With The Jonses" as underscore for the biplane/car chase. On another note, I will hopefully have access to a more complete collection of the sheet music for all three films in the near future. If you have any other lingering questions, let me know and I will do my best to investigate them.
  6. Small rant on this subject: I wish we had the real penitent man will pass, too. And why do we get the Castle Brunwald sneaking music labeled as "father and son reunited" when the father isn't even in the scene!? The real "father and son reunited" would have been great for Disc 5. Back to topic: Jason, Not sure if you've seen any of my confused ramblings on your website - but it boils down to this: Are you SURE that the 9m2 Untitled cue is "keeping up with the Joneses"? There seems to be a different opening to the "birds of charlamagne" in the film that I think might be the 9m2 New Opening - and the bootleg track might be the original 9m2. I'm grasping at straws here, but it's a question that has been bothering me for a while now. Ever since those cue sheets surfaced...
  7. "A Child Returns" IS "Fortune And Glory"... Oh yes, my mistake. That is a great cue. Shame it was left off Disc 5.
  8. Oh, and if you ever get around to the entire "a child returns", and you want to continue, feel free to go right ahead and try "fortune and glory". In all seriousness, thanks again for all your good work!
  9. So now, thanks to the tireless hard work of Jason LeBlanc and Datameister, the entire JWFan community anxiously awaits: THE LAST CRUSADE - EDITING PACKAGE - VOL.3
  10. Another wonderful cue - great work airmanjerm! Are you able to upload all the cues you've done in a higher bitrate anywhere? If not, can any mods allocate you more space for attachments? I'd love to be able to have all of your fine work on display. Thanks again!
  11. Whoa - airmanjerm - that sounds awesome! Even if we already have a somewhat clean rip - it still sounds great. I'd love to hear other cues (even previously released ones) like that! GREAT WORK! Please keep it up!
  12. For my own versions, I often try to make the film edits more "musically pleasing". On my "On The Tank" edit - I added the Nazi Fanfare, but it comes in right after the first (unused) dramatic punctuation and segues into the next section (Where the Nazis jump onto the tank) much cleaner than in the film. I would take no pleasure in a sloppy edit - just for the sake of being true to the film. I also sometimes, though not always, arrange Alternates into the actual score. I have the unused "Indy rides the statues" sequenced right before the original "through the wall" (from the leaked Raiders). Redundant, but it sounds fine to me. I also kept the original dramatic stinger at the end of "father and son reunited" (6m2 - Discussing The Book). The next track - "Elsa's Betrayal" - begins with the "Don't Call Me Junior!" insert. Story-wise it is repetitive, but it makes a nice (complete) listening experience for me.
  13. I'm sorry - The final product is sometimes listenable. I'm trying not to outright bash Hans Zimmer in every one of my posts.
  14. Yes please Datameister! And that goes for anyone who makes audio versions of the recently discovered sheet music
  15. Very few composers write all of their music these days. John Williams is certainly one of them. It represents a new trend, popularized by composers like Zimmer and Horner, where the composer is more of a "soundtrack producer". Hans has often expressed this sentiment. To his credit, Hans is very generous - giving many of his co-composers credit at the end of the film (as "additional music" - although the orchestrators often do just as much work). Others are not so kind. It's not always a bad thing - as Koray points out: the final product is great and represents largely the ideas and compositions of the main composer.
  16. If I'm not mistaken, the DRM free tracks are encoded as 256k AAC files, which are just about the same quality as 320k MP3s.
  17. Because it's practically the exact same theme. The demo track for the first movie is even more similar. Why deny the obvious connection? The Theme from Drop Zone IS in all three films. Not a similar theme. The Exact same cue. Listen to the last minute of "I don't think now is the best time" from world's end. I think it's on one of the final tracks of the first one, too. Maybe only on the bootleg. Can't remember where it is in the second one. In the trailer, it's OK , but to use it in the actual film - note for note - is just plain lazy. It kills me.
  18. Drop Zone was used IN THE FILMS - not only in the trailer (which was fine). And I'm offended by your "ignorance" comment. I enjoy the scores that Hans writes, but he operates, as you said, on a certain range of notes - with very limited results. John Williams, Morricone, Goldsmith etc. write music with a much more varied palette. No doubt this is thanks to their immense talent, classical training and understanding of musical concepts that are "beneath" a rock composer like Hans. The man writes good music, but is in a much different league than Williams.
  19. yes,I agree. Its also RC on autopilot, IE all action stuff sounds the same and from somewhere else. I can't say this enough - the theme from DROP ZONE is in ALL THREE movies and in the first one's trailer! Does Hansy really think he's original? I do enjoy the score, by the way. But I accept them for what they are: formulaic, simple, but-effective music. I also love the theme from "up is down" - even though it sounds like a rip-off of the golden age swashbuckling scores. Which is ironic since Hans and Jerry Bruckheimer spend so much time bashing the "old-fashioned" pirate scores. That's why they wanted Silvestri off the project!
  20. Good point. But Star Wars is still cool too, right?
  21. Harry Potter is whimsical and wonderful, but Superman gets my vote.
  22. It might be "Indy Box-Induced Mania", but I went with the Raiders March
  23. True, the Imperial March is the ultimate bad guy theme - but Star Wars Main Theme is the ultimate god guy theme. And the good guys should always win. Star Wars Main Theme
  24. i like it very much for the six tracks! "Marry Me" is one of my favorites - it includes a more orchestral (to my ears, at least) mix of "Up Is Down". I enjoy it way more than the OST version - which I LOVE. The other extras are ok. It includes the demo track that was featured on soundtrack.net a while ago and a couple of mostly-good suites from the third movie. As for the extra videos - ughh... don't get me started. There are a few featurettes that amount to basically Hans and his gang relaxing on couches and talking about how GREAT of a composer he is. Makes me sick.... Happy New Year!
