This is true, Thanos has zero characterization before Infinity War.

Its uncommon for Bond, till Skyfall. And Newman was an established name at least. I doubt Arnold was ever considered for this.

The fact that they went for a relatively unknown composer the director had worked with before rather than Arnold originally probably tells you what you need to know.

Tracked though, several times. Quite amazing that this theme, which is pretty much the central theme for this trilogy was apparently not composed until quite late.

Zimmer is without a doubt the biggest and most influential film composer since Max Steiner and Korngold, perhaps of all time. I just don't think he's a particularly good fir for Bond. Especially if this is a rush job.
