  1. I hope Williams writes a full concert version of Archimedes Theme like he did for Jedi Steps for concerts. Did I already say I love Archimedes theme? Not enough times I need to bring it up every page of this thread
  2. yeah I saw it in IMAX and I think the center channel with the sound effects was too loud drowning the score.I'll see it in a different theater Same thing happened with TROS
  3. yeah it seemed a lot longer than Prologue. At least we can get that clean eventually
  4. Maybe it was just his theory but that was enough for Voller to doubt.
  5. I think that was pretty much it .The Dial was set to lead to always lead to the same time period (back to Archimedes)
  6. I'm seeing an anti Kathleen Kennedy backlash against this film for being another "woke disaster" , with some Youtubers urging fans to boycott the film. But this time I personally don't see it. Harrison Ford is still great as Indiana Jones and Helena acts like a spoiled brat during most of the movie but her character ark is well fleshed out and she evolves to care about Indy and I thought she was a pretty good female sidekick overall. But I think it's Disney's fault for pushing divisive identity politics so hard in the past few years that they pissed off a large portion of the fanbase and now they see something wrong with everything even when it's actually ok. I think it might be one of the reasons Disney films have been doing poorly at the box office lately.
  7. Yeah that was a bad ending. but I preferred the over the top airplane scenes and Battle of Syracuse over some of the early chase scenes in the film
  8. I was thinking that Helena's Theme in the first 1.07 of Prologue (which I think is unused in the film) is an alternate of To Morroco (2.06-end). it's has the same celeste intro and length yeah me too as I've said a few times. I got stuck playing the last minute and a half of prologue in a loop when I first listened to the OST At exactly 1.56 of To Athens, that might be one of the best renditions of the Raider March ever
  9. Actually for me it was the opposite,. I didn't like the stuff happening in New York after the prologue (the horse riding sequence especially) and it got better when they started to go into tombs and stuff She wasn't as bad as I thought she'd be and I thought Ford played Indy appropriately for the whole movie
  10. I'm shocked I showed up at the theater on opening night expecting it to be sold out for days and got an Imax seat at the best spot in the theater. And there was only about 20 people in the cinema. It's almost like the hype is inexistent for this movie. I liked the film, it's better than Crystal Skull for sure and Harrison Ford is still Indiana Jones. Helena's a good sidekick and the story was alright. Too much CGI though .I have to see it again because as with all JW scored movies I get distracted in my first viewing trying to spot the unreleased music .The mix is pretty bad and lots of the music is buried under sound effects
  11. Alright I just came back from seeing the film on opening night. All the people "who didn't notice major omissions from the OST" are inhaling the copium. The score has a truckload of unreleased music, entire action sequences that aren't on the OST, and some of the more mysterious underscore like the end of the Archimedes Tomb scene when they assemble the Dial, and several good renditions of Helena's Theme and the Raider's March. Most of the short action cues we got on the OST are parts of bigger set pieces with lots of unreleased music and that includes The Airport and Battle of Syracuse (there's a lot of unreleased music when they're flying the airplane into the time crack and afterwards). And they released the worst part of Germany 1944 on the OST, there's fantastic music in that sequence that takes place on a train and that's all original. It's hard to fully appreciate this unreleased music because the mix isn't very good and a lot of it is drowned out by sound effects. Yeah there's a few "lifts" from previous scores but only a few seconds here and there and the worst offender is the Last Crusade music we got on the OST. This might be a worst case scenario if we don't get an expanded edition soon or isolated score. For most of the other Williams grails like the SW Prequels, Indy 4, TFA and Last Jedi, we have most of the unreleased music trough videogame files, bootlegs, recording sessions, isolated score...ect. Even TROS had a generous amount of unreleased music on the FYC.
  12. To Athens is not only a highlight of this album, but among the best cues in the 5 scores. I think the Archimedes Theme could have beat the Ark and Grail theme if there was a full concert version or a "Map Room" style cue with it
  13. yeah but the same can be said of the Star Wars sequels OSTs. Williams could have retired ages ago. I know it's his last score but my evaluation of the OST contents doesn't get a pass because of this and there's about 20 minutes of potential space that could have included more original contents
  14. At the end of the day, there's a lot of unreleased NEW music, while we got a 67 minute OST (13 minutes of space left on the c.d.) , a version of Helena's Theme that belongs as a separate single and 2 tracks with mostly re-recorded music ,1944,Germany (TLC and RotLA) and New York,1969 (Marion's Theme and Raiders' March) How could this not be disappointing in terms of OST assembly.
  15. When we have Blu Ray rips to hear the unreleased music properly I'll become important ,like every other Williams score
  16. End Credits is Raiders march(track17)-Helena's theme (track2)-Prologue(Track 1, 1.08 onwards)
  17. I expect the film to be much better than the early haters and bad reviews have been saying
  18. Well I remember when people first saw Revenge of the Sith they were saying "no major cues or highlights were left off the OST"
  19. What about the "final action sequence" and Finale of the film before the credits Is there lots of unreleased music?
  20. maybe the Dial theme that ends the credits is really JW's Farewell theme
