Is the Good Whitch an alternative for Ben Kenobi. Do I need to spell it out who the Wicked Witch in Star Wars is? I cannot say that for every movie. Think about it. What characters can be shot into space and spontaniously create a Star Wars movie. I cannot find any but the characters of the Wizard of Oz. I think there is amive called 'Return to Oz' and Lucas has something to do with it.I dont think it is based on, but maybe lucas created C3PO out of the lion and the thin man, just as a tribute to one of his favorite movies?Like the Flash gordon influence and so... I mean, Lucas likes digital and The Wizard of Oz was one of the early big special effects films. It used matt-paintings and so on.
