In all seriousness, I had no idea they were making a musical out of this. Not that I was looking, anyway. But I've always been a Dahl buff, ever since I was a child. Not familiar with Christopher Nightingale, who I assume is the score composer?

This was a popular Broadway/West End stage musical that premiered 10 years ago that they’ve now made a movie adaptation of.

 

I’m a huge Dahl fan, but I tried the cast recording album once years ago and didn’t like it, and I think the trailer for this looks bad.

I’ve been going through Dahl books with my kid and I like them generally, although there were a few chapters I had to edit on the fly in Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator a few weeks ago due to some really stupid “flied lice”-style Chinese jokes.  Matilda is one of the best.  I’m sure whatever this musical is, we’ll watch it eventually.
