Charlie Brigden 7
This is probably a little more obscure than the usual choices, but a nifty one at that. WOLFEN joins BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS in being a proto-score for Horner's typical 80s sound, including motifs from both Trek flicks and ALIENS. It's a pretty fine score, a bit rough around the edges but a nice dark and mysterious listen. But what do you think? The film is also underrated I think. A nice twist on the werewolf myth, with some eccentric performances (including a very naked Edward James Olmos) and a bit of JAWS thrown in, and some lovely cinematography. A big possibility that this was also the inspiration for the Predator-vision.I'd rate both the score and the film as a 4.
