ManofDestiny 71
Since the new movie is coming, I am planning to by a new recording of Elmer Bernstein's score. I've owned the original soundtrack recording. But it is in mono and sound so-so. Now I found that there are at least two version of new recording of this score. 1: the KOCH version which record in 1993, easy to find and cheap, plus a bonus track. https://www.amazon.com/Bernstein-Elmer-Magnificent-Seven-Complete/dp/B000V9IJBW/ref=sr_1_3?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1474427912&sr=1-3&keywords=Magnificent+Seven 2: the re-record in 1999. Very hard to found, and extremely expansive. But it is conducted by Bernstein himself. https://www.amazon.com/Magnificent-Seven-Elmer-Bernstein-1999-07-27/dp/B01K8QYYWK/ref=sr_1_56?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1474428074&sr=1-56&keywords=Magnificent+Seven https://www.amazon.com/Magnificent-Seven-Re-recording-1960-Score/dp/B00000JJMD/ref=sr_1_9?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1474427912&sr=1-9&keywords=Magnificent+Seven Now I've listen to the sample of both recording in Amazon, but I can't tell that which one is better. I need recommend and advice. Thank you. (Sorry for my bad English expression. It is not my first language after all) Update: After compare the sample track by track, I decided to buy the KOCH recording.

Disco Stu 15,495
I'd certainly love to hear that Royal Scottish National Orchestra recording. Their recording of Bernstein's To Kill a Mockingbird score is just the best.
Marian Schedenig 8,198
I only know the Sedares recording on Koch, which is fine, and most importantly has a brilliant suite from The Hallelujah Trail.
TheTennisBallKid 17
I quite like Bernstein's own stereo recording for Return of the Magnificent Seven; basically an abridged re-recording of the original. Lively recording.
