Sandor 858 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Something I made quickly to fight boredom at work.
Incanus 5,858 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Quite neat Roald! The color scheme of the Warhorse cover somehow reminds me of the Music of America John Williams compilation. Must be the rainbowy coloring of the image.

Neimoidian 14 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I wish Tintin cover would look like this, but I suppose the'll go for the "floating heads" concept like they did with the poster campaign.

I am sure they think it spells out "adventure" in more certain terms than the moody and quite stylish "Tintin and a ship" image.
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Yay!!! Let the madness (on this board) begin.I for one am NOT gotta listen to any samples beforehand. Something I made quickly to fight boredom at work. Tintin looks great. War Horse... I would want to have a bit more action on the cover.

I didn't want to straw too far from the artwork that's been released... Maybe tomorrow I'll make a little more "adventurous" one.
Sandor 858 Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Ok, I redid the War Horse cover. I took my favorite picture from the film production as a basis. Hope you like it.
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Looks great! Much better.Btw, is there a reason why on the WH cover it says "Music from the Motion Picture" instead of "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack"?
Sandor 858 Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 And an alternative cover for Tintin.
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Wow, I love this Tintin cover!Damn, now I'll be disappointed if the real cover doesn't look like this...
King Mark 3,835 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I absolutely don't give a crap what the cover looks like.Only the amounts of minutes of unrepeated , John Williams composed music
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Why bother? You know you'll be disappointed in the end.
Incanus 5,858 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Why bother? You know you'll be disappointed in the end.The mantra of most film music fans.
Sandor 858 Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 This was by the way the War Horse poster I made on which I based the second CD cover:
Sandor 858 Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Ok, this is what it could look like. Not too terribly proud of it though...
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 If this was the cover, I'd be embarrassed to show it to my "non-soundtrack fan" friends, but hey... I like it!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,988 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 It's a simple design, but I would not be surprised if the CD looks like that.Still think they are cribbing from Gettysburg though:
Jilal 628 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I think they're going to use the motorcycle/Unicorn poster.
Sandor 858 Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 I think they're going to use the motorcycle/Unicorn poster.Something like this?In all honesty: I find it very funny to see my "fanart"-cover on several sites.
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Yeah, this is my favorite! I hope they use this poster!
Incanus 5,858 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 And I think there is now going to be yet another fan cover on different sites, Roald!
crocodile 9,219 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 I wouldn't mind if that first cover of Roald's ended up as the official artwork.Karol
Josh500 1,619 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Well, one of the official posters is definitely gonna be used. The only question is which one?
Sandor 858 Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Made that in like 4 minutes... Hopefully it will inspire the folks at Sony yet again... Tomorrow I'll do a better one.
Josh500 1,619 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 You should send it to them.Hell, we should bombard them with emails.
Luke Skywalker 2,217 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 no picking pockets... :'( EDIT: oops, didnt saw roalds 2nd picture
Jilal 628 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Ok, this is what it could look like. Not too terribly proud of it though...You should really sue Sony, Roald.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,988 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I think Roald has painfully demonstrated how obvious and easy it is to design the front cover for a soundtrack CD.
Incanus 5,858 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Yes. And he has done it twice in a row.
Sandor 858 Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Yes. And he has done it twice in a row.LOL In all honesty, the War Horse one was fairly easy since there was just one poster to choose from. The Tintin cover was harder since there already 5 different posters released by the I started working on it.
