  1. I wonder if the song is the version heard in the film rather than the sound effects version generally out there.
  2. I'll be very happy if JP3 was in the list to accompany JP 1 and 2. I'm often very pleasantly surprised with LLLR's Black Friday releases. Very little will top the year Star Trek V was released.
  3. The Album CD on this is basically the album master, but it sounds like it is from a better source or something. It sounds pretty good, but with far more reverb (it is the album master), so I think they did something to clean it up. I'll personally only listen to the CD 1 contents for the most part.
  4. I've been listening to it for a couple of hours. Sound quality is excellent, and the new mix is really good. Dry compared to the LP with a natural level of reverb. Just like the samples, you can definitely hear more details in most of the instruments. Kudos to Chris Malone and Doug Fake on this release. Love it.
  5. No idea. We all have our wish lists... My ideal would be the Indiana Jones scores complete and properly mastered (correct speed for example). Problem is it's Disney Records (based on the reissues of the Concord releases in some markets).
  6. Good question. I guess we'll find out. I did notice that they combined Shad's Pursuit and Destruction of Hammerhead in the main score. Makes sense as they are that way in the film.
  7. Mine just got the shipped notice. I'll likely have it by the weekend, at which point my ears will be given a treat.
  8. @Jay, I don't think it's all that necessary, but one of your famous and handy spreadsheets would be cool for this release.
  9. I try to do both with repeated listens. I enjoy the overall cue, then go back and try to pick out what the instruments are doing. And in many cases I get lost in those scores. If CDs were not digital, I'd wear them out.
  10. I think for this and Superman IV the use of different takes to make some performance corrections is a good choice. This is a tool to be used in specific circumstances if it truly benefits the music. I think the sample for the Main Title must have been done lower res than the rest of the samples, it sounds distant and pinched compared to everything else. I think the actual cue on the CD will sound perfectly fine.
  11. Ordered as well of course. Holy cow those samples. That brass is much more upfront and detailed.
  12. Oh that sounds GOOD. Sounds a lot cleaner than the OST or the movie.
  13. I remember this score reused in other Roger Corman flicks I saw on VHS: Space Raiders, Wizards of the Lost Kingdom IIRC.
