Agreed. A good DVD transfer can still look quite pleasing on my aging Samsung 51" plasma (that maxes out at 1080i), although they look less so on modern LED displays. I even to this day have a large collection of (trigger alert) Laserdiscs which I won't part with.

Availability/affordability in fact. So I should rather import one Blu-ray (I don't have a 4K display or player) instead of 20 DVDs which I purchased used locally. Thanks for your input.

@filmmusic @Bilbo I'm so happy you guys have unlimited funds to purchase Blu-rays and 4Ks. Perhaps you should ask the OP to change the thread title to recently purchased Blu-rays/4Ks? Should I start my own thread for DVD purchases to spare your eyes/sensibilities?

DiaBD is long awaited and a definite purchase for me. Only 1000 units of KSM though? If the sound improvements are as significant as the marketing copy suggests, won't this sell out pretty quickly?

Not that easy in my case. Discs have to be imported via third parties. Overseas postage costs are astronomical and our postal service is virtually non-existent. I don't have spare cash to purchase extra copies and then return the defective ones.
