  1. I found that with Home for the twins and such was a higher pitch, but not the entire track, I had to cut the track, I believe, at the part where they're deciding where C3P0 and R2D2 are going. I cut it around the second "fare" I believe if memory serves. I then left padme's funeral as is in the file and up until the arrival of Leah. It took me a while to figure this out because I was trying to understand why after I'd changed the pitch of the file, it still didn't match up, it was a whole step off. I was able to edit it so you can't even tell that it was edited together. :-D as far as the drums, I just used the dvd rip. Even though it sounds a little differen't, it's still very clear and you know it's a timpani so I was like "oh well this works fine"... it's just the higher harmonics that are missing but I don't see it entirely as a loss. There's no hiss, there's no noise (if you loop it) and then you can play it over the begining part and make it sound like it does in the movie. I have that track completely done too. There is only one instance of sound near the end when you hear Obi-Wan's fighter shaking... I think it's when he says "I have a bad feeling about this," but past that, pretty clean. I then took the fanfare at the end that we have and played it over the one in the DVD rip, cut off the last chord, sped it up and changed it's pitch so that it matches the film version, and then put it back over the other fanfares ending so that it fits perfectly... and it sounds fine for me. There are still a couple little spots I'd really like if someone could rip the music from the dvd for like when greviouses ship finally rights itself and anakin grabs the wire and they all kinda stop. In mine, it's just the DVD rip with all the sounds and everything. I'm sure that the rear channels wouldn't be much better, but still, it's better than listening to a 2 minute track only to hear "AHH!" "Eeer!" "::metalic twang::" "::ship flying off in distance::" There are some other little spots, like as Yoda says "Close to you?" up until he says "Careful you must be when sensing the future Anakin." that whole line. it's the only talking in that track. There are also two spots in when Padme goes to Mustafar. "Stop. Come back! I love you!" ... I forgot that I didn't have anything to replace that, and as I listened to it in my car, I had to turn it up to hear the music before, and then I hear "STOP!" and my brother and I nearly shit ourselves. lol that and "You turned her against me!"... again, the only talking parts in that track. :-) EDIT: I also found that with "Obey the Council," the ending of it can be taken from earlier in the track, and copy and pasted into that spot twine and then just fade into that last chord.
  2. :-) (But my brother plays games and he plays it... but that's not why *I* baught it.)
  3. HAH... I was waiting for Rose Nylund to burst in screaming "Dorothy?! Dorothy?!"
  4. If you go on some sharewares you can download it... I think that's how I ran into it actually if memory serves... I was trying to find something star wars... OH YES! THe Episode I bootleg and I ran into that cause I 'd just typed in Star Wars ... You can also order it online... But has anyone seen it?
  5. Ok... maybe it's because I wan't around when Star Wars first came out, but it wasn't until last night that I ran into this interesting tidbit about Star Wars. I ended up looking up some information and for those of you, like me, who weren't around November 17th, 1973(something like that) to see this... here's the jyst: George Lucas created a side story to go along with star wars, featuring the talents of all the normal actors. There was a live action part and a cartoon. The live action, from what I can figure, deals with Chewie's family... I didn't even know he had one... his son's name is lumpy... heheheheh... anyways, Chewie is going back to Kashyyk--which is really the mat painting of another planet tinted green, to celebrate "Life Day" with his wife, son, and his wife's father who live in a tree house that looks exactly like the buildings we saw in Episode III based on the artwork by Ralf McQuary(sp?) if memory serves... Anyways, I had NEVER heard of this... and never seen it before until last night... It looks kinda cookey but at the same time, it's star wars. I was curious who did the music though, I can't seem to find out who that was...--and I'm guessing it's not availible just like the movie isn't. Oh! It was on CBS... a TV movie thing. It has B. Arthur in it though! lol... and some music video like things too... I dunno... From what I read, Leah was drunk the whole time lol.. They're all wearing their Episode 4 costumes... Lea with her buns in a hair and such... I dunno... anyone else seen this? I kinda want to now lol
  6. ... Harry Potter is a John Williams sound. So to make a score for it... I would hope he would... unless he were crazy lol (jk) or better than John Williams and thought he could make a completely unique score --but I don't think the movie called for that-- and the HP score for the new movie is more along the lines of John Williams in the late 80's early 90's... his sound is completely different now (imo)
  7. With Revisiting Padme, I merged the file right at the end of the love theme where the fanfare is just about to start and it's the horns carrying a note at about 1:44 for me. Even with the adjusting for the speed and note problem, there is still a problem as the note doesn't sound quite intune with the one from the album. I tried it a million times and still couldn't get it. I might try again but I'm not expecting to get it much better. I used the album version of general grevious, cut to the string quartet like part where he's running up to the holomachine, then cut back to the album version for when it starts and I believe it's the album version the rest of the way... if that helps any...
  8. Personally, I love the Theme from A. I. I sang it/arranged it for piano, two violins and baratone (lol) for my school talent show. Got second place yo... (shoudl have be first ::cough cough: lost by like... half a point too! lol Oh well. It was actaully my first relationships "song" hehe... good times good times...
  9. grr... I'm happy they came out with an UE of Phantom, but I still want the bootleg... it has the REAL music on it as opposed to a rehash of some of the tracks from the original release. For instance the ACTUAL Celebration Music??? Maybe even the vocal-less Duel of the Fates... grr I, too, emailed Sony about the release to no avail--as I'm sure many people have. I love how John Williams aranges the albums but at the same time, I'd like the option to listen to how it really was presented in the movie.
  10. I have perfect pitch and It KILLS me when I hear this stuff faster... even by 4%... I remember the original trilogy... I had the tapes and Star Wars had a problem with it so the fanfare at the begining when "Star Wars" scrolled up, the fanefare would warble out of tune... nails on a chalkboard...aaah
  11. I tend to look at it thusly: Classical music paints many many colours. If you listen to a classical piece there are moments where, with the tuned film score ear, you can say "Hey! That sounds evil!" and then suddenly, the mood shift to something more jockular. I can't ever get into classical music because it's so flighty. It seems to cover so many different sounds and colors and moods that it's really more like a collage than an actual singular mood. There are times where I can imagine taking a small part of a classical piece and expanding upon it and taking it to it's fullest extent. I look at classical music as being similar to arrangements of film scores... "The Best of..."'s... because really.. it seems that classical music goes out to take a theme or a motiv or whatever and tell you how it can be played in as many colors, ideas, interations, feelings, as the composer can create in one piece, whereas film music, you have the chance to stay in one mode... one feeling... one tone... and elaborate and elaborate and elaborate... all in that one feeling. Classical music also seems to me to be more... jouvenile... flighty... silly... Classical music is like... Leave it to Beaver... Where as film music has more soul and depth and adult sounds to it... Film Music is like... Crash I dunno...these are my own thougts on it. I'm not saying they're correct but it's how I think of it. There are many many exceptions such as Requiems and mass settings. Those, like film scores, have more time to elaborate...but don't have to entertain like waltz's, operas, concertos, and such tend to have to... catering to the audience. While film music caters the film more...---I dunno...I'm tlaking out of my ass now lol
  12. I finally got Battlefront II and can begin ripping music from it.. was there any specific places I needed to look?
  13. I have a friend who's a big star wars fan and yet he still swears it's called "Darth Vader's Death March."
  14. he looks more like the alien that comes out at the end of Close Encounters... and reaches out it's arms and stuff... lol then again, Steven Speilburg's universe isn't that seperate from George Lucas... ET was in star wars... heh
  15. weee... ok Other question... has anyone solved what I call the "stupid fade" at about 4:00 into "Boys go to Battle." I've been working on my edit--based on the film--and I can't get that STUPID fade right because the way it is in the film, the horn is playing a high D and in the recording on the cd it's playing a G# and they don't fade right and the only way I could achieve it was through use of some DVD material which of course has some enguine noise... Anyone else figure out how to fix this? Also, if this is possible, maybe that segment could be ripped from the dvd? It's from right before Anakin says "They're comming around"... just like...10 seconds worth would totally do it... EDIT: Actually... only do this if you have the chance or want to... nevermind it really... I've worked it out lol
  16. you all complain and belittle too much...
  17. I know this is gonna be a "duh" moment but, I really feel the music failed that trailer... That their could have been better music chosen for it. I realize that the score that SHOULD have accompanied it was rejected but still, they could have found something a little more... I found it... lacking... I'm not saying anything LOOKED bad... as the graphics were wonderful, and the trailer it self was quite riveting...I'm definately going to see the movie... It's just I feel the music failed that trailer... completely lol I liked the composition of the original trailer... Also...not sure I like how the t-rex sounds... reminds me of an aligator... but... I dunno... not sure I like it... lol
  18. I didn't, but a friend of mine, my mentor and music director from Church wrote JW a letter... I'm guessing he told him what a fan I was and how I wanted to be a composer and such. He came over one day and was like "Look what I got!" lol... He'd sent a photo back with a signature on it. "Bernard, All Best!" lol... I'm sure that's the usual treatment but I was psyched none the less lol My friend unfortunately passed away before he could tell me what he'd written... he said he was gonna tell me... made it sound like he'd said something that I should hear... maybe that I had cancer or something and that it was my dieing wish lol...
  19. It was mentioned that if someone could record the music directly with a line out from the X-Box it might be better. I havn't yet bought BFII, but that's how I recorded the music from the demo disk back a few weeks ago--"Get 'em R2"... If it would make it easier and sound better, I can go get the game and do the same...
  20. Actually... Jabba is in A New Hope... ;-)
  21. I knew something looked different... wasn't it originally a puppet? As far as a puppet looking like crap... it's kind of interesting... In the time of the original star wars, Jim Henson was in his prime and using a puppet was like... the technology of the time... Today, we use CG... I dunno... Are they releasing TPM redone with Yoda all CG?
  22. Is it just me or that cue on the site "anakin and sebulba," on the normal recording... does it have like... a "boop" on it. Everytime I hear it I'm like... what is that? it doesn't sound like an instrument buty et it kinda sounds intune with what's going on. ... I'm guessing a digital boop from the machine?
