  1. Cool. Looks like I'll be needing to redo my own personal very-quickly-put-together Episode II extended version then. Like I didn't have enough to do already.
  2. I would say John Debney's Lair, except that is not a film score.
  3. Hmm; I don't really want to register on yet another forum. I take it you WILL post all main news here anyway, right? Like when it's done.
  4. I'll go with Sinbad; I find it more enjoyable than Treasure Planet and has more "piratey" music and no overly modern influence (electric guitar). Treasure Planet has some really good parts, but I think that Sinbad has more good parts.
  5. That's the one thing I remembered about the soundtrack from Mulan, even before I was a film music fan. I like both versions a lot, but I think they made the right decision with the film version: it's much more powerful.
  6. Blossoms is for the scene where Mulan is talking with her father after everything went pretty much wrong at the matchmaker. After that, she decides to go away. So between Matchmaker and Short Hair is the right spot.
  7. I really like this score; one of my favourite Jerry Goldsmith scores. And I think I'd probably have to rate it as best score for an animated film as well. The OST had some nice tracks on it, but there's a lot of greatness that you miss out on without the complete edition. What I really like is that apart from the comedy tracks, it really doesn't sound like music for an animated film.
  8. I also included Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix [computer game] - James Hannigan, so that makes two. And indeed it is basically like a film score, which is the reason why I think it deserves inclusion.
  9. And that is very much on purpose. In this case, the computer game scores are of such a quality as to warrant inclusion. The fact that a computer game score is currently leading the poll should serve as proof of that.
  10. I thought there was a wizard in there and some supernatural stuff. Haven't seen the film though, so I suppose I'm wrong.
  11. Perhaps I should have made it more clear that I meant "Best Fantasy Score COMPOSED in 2007". I'll edit my first post. Wholeheartedly agreed. I think Cutthroat Island remains better, but Lair is definitly John Debney's second-best score as far as I'm concerned. Interesting that with so many fantasy scores this year, it's actually a score composed for a computer game that is getting most of the votes. It seems that computer game scores have caught up with film scores at last.
  12. Having listened to most of Henry Buck's version, I must say I'm impressed. Very good stuff, nice usage of Hedwig's Theme and Nimbus 2000 as well. Interesting variations. Good stuff.
  13. That's not a fantasy score of 2007, is it? Even though it was obviously re-released in heavily expanded form in 2007.
  14. There have been lots of scores for fantasy films this year of rather varying quality. So now that the year is over, which do you think is the best? I included two computer game scores in this poll, because I believe they deserve to be added. Additional thoughts on these scores would also be welcome. Note: This poll is only meant for scores COMPOSED for 2007 films and computer games. So that excludes The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Complete Recordings as well as The Spiderwick Chronicles.
  15. As far as movies that SHOULD have had a Williams score, I cannot but agree with King Mark: Harry Potter 4 Harry Potter 5 Harry Potter 6 Harry Potter 7 Possibly also Jurassic Park III. Now for the movies I would like to have scored by John Williams: - Pirates of the Caribbean - The Lord of the Rings - The Chronicles of Narnia
  16. 1. John Williams 2. Jerry Goldsmith 3. Basil Poledouris 4. Alan Silvestri 5. James Newton Howard 6. John Debney 7. David Arnold 8. James Horner 9. Harry Gregson-Williams No Horner in the top 3 for me. Definitly not.
  17. I meant "Enjoy hating me forever". If you want it, you know what to do, right?
  18. I have listened to some of the tracks on my iPod now and it seems the sound quality is good. Nothing wrong with it as far as I can hear.
  19. I don't remember the film very much; I just remember it was "an action film". Listening to the music, one thing's obvious: The main theme is really good.
  20. Thanks again. The tracknames found on that site seem to line up perfectly with the music. Awesome!
  21. Thanks very much, Mark! To Stefan: The sound quality sounds pretty much OK listening on the speakers of my laptop.
  22. I found a complete or extended edition of Under Siege 2: Dark Territory by Basil Poledouris. Unfortunately the tracks are all unnamed. Does anyone have this as well? Does anyone know any names for the tracks?
  23. Ludlow's Demise is really cool. The Quidditch Match has better thematic usage. Anderton's Great Escape just sounds like "action" to me and doesn't really do that much for me.
