It was always meant to be attached to Top Gun, but maybe like Avatar not released online until after the opening weekend. That's what the leak pushed maybe....

Well that's the thing, the tracklist from day 1 in the description was the shorter one, while the product image on the site and other comms had the 2LP messaging...so what is the truth haha (plus the actual 2LP has 4 bonus tracks)
This was supposed to be just 500 pressings and they're miraculously 'in stock' still right now so I guess they ditched the 2LP idea at some point last minute and went for single..

I don't know if anyone else has ordered the limited edition picture disc OST from Sound of Vinyl but despite the image that's still on their website advertising it as Two Double Sided Picture Discs, I've received it and it's only one LP with a shortened tracklist (which is actually in the description but still, odd/confusing all around)

Does the financial viability of the studio rely on this film being a massive success? I doubt cinemas will ever return to the numbers we saw a few years ago -- the longer this drags on, the more entrenched home cinemas/streaming becomes.
The cinema experience was dying a slow death before COVID; they're only accelerating it by withholding the product.
Uh, yes. It's MGM. They have nothing else that's this big - everything else coming is indie and prestige/awards releases, this film was meant to cover a lot for them - they already ended up delaying their big awards contender Respect (Aretha Franklin biopic) because they didn't have the money from Bond to do a campaign. And they've already blown their load twice marketing spend wise. And they're up for sale now too.
Also UK cinemas don't look to be able to reopen until May at this point, that's the latest indication re: hospitality in this current lockdown, which will only begin to ease up when enough of the most vulnerable are vaccinated, with now the latest timeline is every UK adult being offered it by the end of the summer. At the current rate timelines appear to be very similar Stateside too, and in continental Europe. All the big stuff that can't have PVOD or streaming as a cushion like the Warner Bros/HBO Max stuff, is gonna be pushed.

The times are on the iTunes store now (when looking on the Music app on my Mac) and they are accurate.
