  1. Wow...seems like there are a lot of cynical people on this board. Its too bad that looking through Rose-Colored Glasses seems to be a trait all too common here.
  2. I would ask him what his own favorite score is. And diskobolus, everyone knows that Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto is his best! :tongue2:
  3. I have the Collector's Edition and it is an excellent CD. Even though the movie (and the score) were made around 25 years ago, the sound quality on this CD rivals some of those that are made today. The added cues and previously unreleased tracks are an added plus also.
  4. I wish I could go... Curse my Podunk town in my Podunk state! Oh well, I suppose it will be made up to me when I move to London next year. Then it will be non-stop LSO listening pleasure! btw...does anyone know if JW even does live concerts with the LSO or any European orchestras for that matter?
  5. Dear God my friends.... You must ALL go out and get this superb rendition of one of the greatest scores of all time. That is, until an official CD is ever released.
  6. Well, let's hope that JW knew previously about the edits, and that he and Lucas agreed that either the original version or a totally new rescored would be added back into the "Ultimate Edition" of the film. I mean, Lucas knew that he would be editing the film up until the last conceivable moment, and maybe the reused tracks that are near the end of AOTC are just temp tracks. I know this is wishful thinking, but hey, that's me. Always the eternal optimist, and besides it could happen!
  7. The peice that I have ALWAYS wanted to hear played with Fireworks on the 4th of July is the 4th movement from Beethoven's 9th Symphony - known as "Ode to Joy" to you laymen out there. To me, this is the single greatest peice of music ever written and it epitomizes all that is perfect in music (so fat that is), but that is an entirely different topic altoghether. But alas, in no place I have been has this peice been programmed...it's always the same old predictable stuff.
  8. Actually guys, upon closer review (from your correct info that is ) I think "Shmi's Theme" is at about 3:55 into the "Anakin is Free" track, and with the oboe playing it. At least, that is the same theme that is heard in AOTC when she is dying and when Anakin is rescuing her. Am I wrong here guys?
  9. Does Shmi's Theme even actually show up in TPM? I can't ever recall hearing it.
  10. Hello all...I'm new here, but I already have a question. I know that there is a campaign for Sony and Lucasfilm to release a complete, and unedited score for AOTC in CD format (as well as there should be...those punks will never learn), but, I was wondering if there was a separate campaign to have the original music intended for the film (or perhaps a re-score) inserted back into the film - anything but that wretched editing job we have now. I mean, is there a letter that has been sent to Lucas or any of his "people"? Surely, Lucas must have seen his fallacy in this area of his film! I don't know about you guys, but the music in a film is almost like a second character, and to hear the debacled editing that occurs frequently in AOTC (reusing cues from TPM note for note) really takes away from the film more than it should.
