  1. Oof that Clone Wars version does not sound good
  2. Ah yes that’s right, so that makes the aforementioned influence even more unlikely because of that timing
  3. I thought the name Coruscant came from the West End tabletop RPGs? It’s not mentioned in ROTJ and I don’t know if it’s in the novelisation either Worth noting that it’s an actual word that means ‘shining’ or ‘glittering’
  4. This is very vindicating after people tried to paint Mattris as the victim
  5. To be honest I didn’t even know that was a thing or a valid reason to use that, but noted for the future They’re not though, he has been very specific with his insults depending on which particular person takes his ire. I’ve been on the receiving end of that in the past when I thought engaging was in anyway productive
  6. That’s absolutely not true that Mattris hasn’t resorted to personal attacks. The only person that has claimed that is, surprise-surprise, Mattris himself.
  7. Surprised to not see more love for Series 1+2, some of the music really came to life and showed how great the compositions were once they were orchestrated I adore this sweeping operatic piece in particular, lots of vivid memories of when this played:
  8. I think the difference there is we've already heard what Blair Mowat would sound like in 'Doctor Who' mode, whereas that was uncharted territory for Murray Gold at the time
  9. ??? There's no rules against swearing on this forum as far as I'm aware
  10. Yes he is, that’s my point. No idea what you mean by the swearing comment
  11. I’d say even from a purely marketing standpoint this is the greatest impetus to tighten things up in that regard When RTD was in charge soundtrack releases were very regular iirc
  12. Fucking YES I’ve been anxiously awaiting the news of a new composer trying to steel myself for disappointment but this is everything I have always been wanting Biggest difference to the feel of Chibnall’s era compared to the rest of Doctor Who is the lack of pathos of which the music is a HUGE part of. It’s what I always notice immediately going from one episode in the Chibnall era to anything before that I would’ve been happy just having him back for the 60th and to hear those glorious rich tapestry of themes for the Tennant era, but to hear he’s going on to Series 14 as well makes me ecstatic and I can’t wait to hear what new things he comes up with I always thought his strongest music was in the RTD1 era and I do think he ran out of steam by the end, but with so much distance from the project and working with a longtime collaborator with, what I’m surprised to see as no hesitation, we could be on the brink of another Golden (heh) Era Last thing I expected to wake up and hear, my god I can’t wait for the sheer comfort of hearing Murray’s music with the return of Doctor Who in that first 60th episode. It’s going to be a surreal but beautiful experience, I’m especially going to feel it when I hear Donna’s theme again
  13. Wow listening to this on its own especially makes me realize how much of a significant step up this season's score was It's a lot more traditional than I realized! I really enjoy the Titan's theme
  14. Duh? The most common reasons to be a detractor would not cause you to enjoy the finale though since it's resplendent with a bunch of issues that have persisted across the entire series and this season in particular. So if someone is asking if things were turned around, I would have to say no
  15. If you’re a detractor it doesn’t do much if at all to course correct
  16. I hope that’s not true, not even for political reasons, but the pragmatic fact that talent is already in such short supply that if you start filtering out half the population then you’re throwing away a bunch of potential talent
  17. It’s like your grandpa wandering into the dining room muttering about black people
  18. It's what I wanted very badly to be his arc, him moving away from the ridiculous restrictions of the cult and being comfortable with having his helmet off in front of others
  19. Thank you, I knew Mattris had said those things recently! The code of a specific religion forbids it. The point of a grey Jedi is someone who follows Jedi ideals but without aligning to a particular institution, like Jolee Bindo in KOTOR 1
  20. Sex is human! That’s something Russel has always understood when it comes to making something resonant with an audience. It’s the difference between the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy to me where the people in the former series feel more believable since they’re presented in a more honest and human way
  21. There’s something about Millie’s outfit especially that is tricking my brain into thinking I’m looking at Classic Who, I really love it. They both look stunning and I’m glad to see more commitment towards wearing diverse outfits that fit the setting
  22. You have rubbed people's noses in it/gloated about it just on this very page of discussion alone. There's nothing I can say that wouldn't be repeating myself, if you continue as you are and continuously you find no one takes you seriously no matter what then you should reflect on why that is and how you can change your approach. Until you realize that, there's nothing more to be said on the matter.
