  1. Haha, I'm sorry, but this post has been up for a week. Also, right off the top of my head, I know you're the only one who has mentioned Thelma & Louise, Days Of Thunder, and Black Rain, and the second to mention Rain Man. Seems nobody has even heard the early Zimmer years, we are some of the few.
  2. Navajo Joe, Ennio Morricone is a genius. I think he's starting to surpass John Williams in my own book of best composers ever. It's a tough call, two very different composers, it'll have to be a tie as of yet.
  3. With the newest installment in the popular video game franchise, I thought we should hold a poll to the best score of the series. IMO, it's a very close tie with the original and with the latest, Airborne. Happy voting!
  4. Yes you were. Mind you this is for scores for films that have won best picture, and IMO, The Lord Of The Rings scores are severely overrated.
  5. Okay, here are the final Top 5, voting is closed: 1. Schindler's List 2. Braveheart 3. The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King 4. Ben-Hur 5. The Godfather Part II Again, very little posts. I feel ROTK doesn't belong in there at all.
  6. Okay, here are the final Top 5, voting is closed: 1. The Lion King 2. Gladiator 3. The Da Vinci Code 4. Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End 5. Spanglish I wish we had more votes, this Top 5 isn't very representative of his best work, IMO.
  7. Okay, here are the Top 5, voting is closed: 1. Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan 2. Willow 3. Apollo 13 4. Glory 5. Braveheart This one was hard to narrow down, all the votes were very close.
  8. Okay, here are the final Top 5, voting is closed. 1. Superman: The Movie 2. Batman 3. Batman Returns 4. Spider-Man 5. X-Men: The Last Stand
  9. Brad Bird is a Michael Giacchino kinda guy.
  10. LOST Scrubs Family Guy The Office Curb Your Enthusiasm Entourage Seinfeld Home Movies Dr. Katz Futurama Late Night The Tonight Show
  11. Or you can just get the 3CD complete score instead of making your own.
  12. I think one goal in every composers career is to never score a Renny Harlin film. I mean come on: The Covenant, Deep Blue Sea, Mindhunters, Exorcist: The Beginning, A Nightmare On Elm Street 4? All very very extremely bad movies. It appears his favorite composer would be Trevor Rabin.
  13. I'm not a troll, and I'm not trying to start any arguments. I just thought that if there was a thread then it would be on the first page, but your explanation explains to me why it isn't. So this post can be deleted, sorry for the disturbance.
  14. Not sure if this has been created, although I doubt it. Considering there is a Heroes thread, I thought I'd create the thread for the much better show. Here, we can discuss thoughts about Seasons 1-3 until February. We can also include Michael Giacchino and his unique sound that makes the show so much more. Let the theories and thoughts begin!

  16. Who cares? All that matters is that Powell did an amazing score.
  17. Yeah, it's very beautiful, however, the whole score is basically like that.
  18. John Williams isn't a very versatile composer when it comes to directors. He needs someone who can match his talent. Don't forget he only does films that he thinks will be successful. I would love for him to build up on previous collaborations, instead of being 90% Steven Spielberg. My absolute wish, though, is for him to score an animated movie and a video game. Medal Of Honor may have been his only chance, but then again, if he did than Michael Giacchino wouldn't be who he is today. As for the animated movie, maybe something by DreamWorks, but those are always Hans Zimmer & Co. Maybe Bee Movie, although that opportunity has passed.
  19. Just saw the film and got the score. IMO, the whole start was slow and boring, common with Cronenberg, however it had an amazing finale. The subtitles were disorganized and kinda confusing, with a poorly executed ending. The excellent acting and powerful score by Shore saved the film. Did I mention it has some of the most realistic violence I've ever seen? That film made me cringe. Movie: *** out of **** Score: ***1/2 out of **** EDIT: Dammit I screwed up the title! Oh well, what can ya do?
  20. Well, agree to disagree, or whatever since I think we both kinda agree. I just realized I need to tally up all the Top 5 scores I posted, it's been awhile. However, it's 10:21pm and I have a college essay to write. Goodbye for now...
  21. I own all his CD's and every CD for every composer associated with Hans. Cats > Dogs. A dog can't survive on it's own, plus they're stupid and dirty. Cats take little to no care, plus they're pleasant to be around. I don't understand the whole myth that cats are mean, all you do is don't piss it off and you'll be fine.
  22. M:I-2 was a success for me. War Of The Worlds a failure for the simple reason that it had no theme for me to enjoy.
