Yeah, it sounds like a trumpet solo is playing the Anthem of Evil theme behind it, which makes it even better. I was going to try to edit it in tonight but didn’t get around to it. I’ll try tomorrow. It should be pretty easy, but we have no idea if the section from 2:33 to the end of Journey to Exegol is what follows Prologue in the film. Or do you think it’s safe to assume that Prologue (FYC) is how it is in the film, and 0:56 to the end should be edited into 2:33 of Journey of Exegol? Or just 0:56 to 1:28, since 1:28-end isn’t on the OST? So many questions! I realized today that I love Williams’ Star Wars scores so much because they’re like a puzzle that you can never really completely solve. And for me, I don’t necessarily need the finished picture all put together because the process itself is really satisfying by itself. All the guessing and editing can be tedious at times, but it’s still pretty fun.

Rap and hip-hop music. I truly don't understand how someone could wake up in the morning and listen to it and feel anything but extremely aggravated. If you never want to see me again, play some of this music!

Why do people prefer the Disney Trilogy to the Prequels?
dylanskie replied to Unlucky Bastard's topic in General Discussion
In my experience, it's all about expectations. If you had years to speculate on who would play Anakin and what the story looked like to make him have two kids, you were probably let down. I'm young enough that I couldn't speculate to advanced degrees about what would happen in the prequels. Hayden was Anakin, and he was awkward around and somewhat forceful to Padmé. But as a kid, you don't question those things--you just accept them as they are. But I had years to form expectations about the sequels. I formed scenes in my head about how certain things or scenes would play out. I don't think the sequels are bad at all--I think there's just a lot of wasted potential in there. You just kind of have to leave your expectations at the door the best you can. -
The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker OST Album Discussion
dylanskie replied to Jay's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Yeah, this album is really good. As expected, the presentation is much better than the FYC. There are a few moments from the FYC missing in this, like that section of "Prologue," but that doesn't matter much because we already have it on the FYC anyway. Rey's theme and Luke and Leia's theme near the end of "Reunion" are really moving. I'm glad that "Finale" isn't full of music tracked from the rest of the film! Oh, and that section of "Palpatine's Seduction" in "Fanfare in Prologue" at 2:42... it was a pleasant surprise. I do wish more of the prequel music had been reflected in here, but it's alright. We had three films of that. Though if Don is correct, and every theme from all other eight films are in this movie, then there'll be more of the prequel themes in the movie, just not on the album or the FYC. That being said, I don't really think it's necessary--this movie shouldn't be a rehash of all the other ones. -

I just listened to the first few seconds of the Main Title and it sounds noticeably different, but also better! -

Yeah, it's really unusual. Still no exact matches for any of the titles from Shazam with only 8 hours to go. They're either keeping it locked up tight or the album is completely different from what we're expecting. -

What if the Anthony Daniels march isn't even Williams. It could be a composer who was hired specifically because he could mimic Williams' style really well... -

Yeah, the FYC tracklist is definitely not the same as the actual soundtrack -

Yeah, the lack of "Main Title" is the biggest thing that jumps out at me, and I can't wait to see what the deal is with it. It's probably part of "Fanfare and Prologue"... but why call it "Fanfare"? The answers will be revealed shortly -
The Rise of Skywalker The Rise of Skywalker - Disney Records OST

Maybe Duel of the Fates comes in for five seconds right in the middle of it. Who knows? I don't have any idea--I was mostly hoping. However, that march still does sound like Williams, so there's no way to know why it would be left off the FYC if it's new material. How come the YouTube videos of the FYC don't identify any of the track names? I saw one named "Track __" and that was it. -

Perhaps "Anthem of Evil" is that one march from those Anthony Daniels videos -

Hm. This is interesting. Online international stores have been getting soundtrack albums about two days in advance in the last year or so, so I expect we'll have the full album to listen to before the 17th. However, since the tracklist is nowhere to be found other than on Shazam, things could be completely different... -
There are some great moments in here. After the first listen, "Prologue," "Approaching the Throne," "Parents," and ""A New Home" stand out to me the most. Those choral elements in the last tracks sound incredible. Leia's theme mixed with the soft vocals in "Healing Wounds" reminds me of "Remembering Jenny" by Christophe Beck for some reason. Maybe it's because it sounds like Leia is speaking from beyond the grave as well. I don't expect anyone to have ever heard it--and the similarities I see are probably only because of the possible scene similarities. Either way, it's a beautiful development of her theme! And Sidious' theme near the start of "Falcon Flight"--who was it who said it wouldn't work with a faster tempo and a "march" treatment? It sounds great!
