  2. I've been trying to convince my wife that we should name our kid Chewbacca... nice dice so far. But you will find that I can be very... persuasive! (little baby Chewy... awww cute!) LOL
  3. I don't read everything on the disscussion boards, too much to read, so I miss stuff like this sometimes. Late reply, but I also compose music as well, since I was about 14 years old I think. I a Senior composition major at Utah State University and plan on goingNC School of the Arts for a MM in Film Music Composition as well as jsawruk. You can find most of my music on my website http://www.sethneuffer.com Plus I like to eat Spam.
  4. I'm looking for a track listing of the Space Camp cd... the names of the tracks and stuff. Can't find it anywhere on the net. Can anyone help?
  5. Yes, sometimes there are voice dropouts with too much going on. It can be a problem with lots of percussion rolls and stuff with full orchestra. SBLive has major problems with that in WinXP... unless you download the right patch update, then it's fine. I think the newer soundcards have a good polyphony range. I would love to get my hands on some expensive pro equiptment, but i'm on a college student financial status at the moment and I think for this case, soundfonts are definately the way to go.
  6. You think Simposons is controversal? Try watching South Park! I love the Simposons. I wasn't allowed to watch it as a kid... but not that i'm not, I'm crazy about it. They have the most clever ways of moving from subject to subject with the most ingenious methods of good comedy! Brilliant!!
  7. I think it's great. But I like the newer ones better than the old ones. Al Bundy has some great expressions. But it's surely not a family show if you're into your kids learning family values.... but they don't make shows like that anymore anyway!
  8. Okay guys, I just got the Witches of Eastwick DVD and am going to record the music onto my computer... does anyone know where I can find a list of when the cues are so I can find where the music comes in with greater ease?
  9. yeah, just send an email to csiaSpam@aol.com and i'll try to help you out the best I can.
  10. Soundfonts a great was to work with many different sounds flexibly for a minimal cost. Find yourself an Creative SBLive... ranging anywhere from $50 to $250 depending how many extra features you need. Then make sure you have plenty of RAM (I'd recommend atleast 512MB for large soundbanks). You can download all the soundfonts you'll ever need for free off the internet and edit them with Vienna SoundFont Studio.
  11. For a class I'm taking next semester I want to annalyze some film scores. I found this site that has some sheetmusic for sale. Does anyone know if these scores any good? Are they like the originals or are they crappy arrangements for young muscians? Do you think this is a good method to annalyze the scores, or is there a better source? http://www.johnwilliams.org/reference/sheetmusic.html
  12. Where is this Jurrasic Park music from, did JW arrange this or someone else? I'm confused
  13. Sure many composers in the past have made revolutionary contributions which make them known in history as the greatest composers (as most should be recognized). All these things learned from music has been passed from generation to generation of great composers. John Williams has probably studied music from all teh great composers and can surely write music similar 9or better) to their's easily. He's learned from them all and can combine their styles at will with flexibility, which is one reason he is one of the best. It's like asking, who's a better trumpet player, Louie Armstrong or Wynton Marsalis... many will say Louie for his finesse and contributions to jazz and trumpet playing, but Wynton has learned from him and as added onto it. I believe Wynton Marsalis is a much better player. Same analogy for Williams if you've finally understood me by now.
  14. I listen to tons of other things as well. My favorite way to listen is with my WinAmp player on random. I have over 20GB of mp3s, mostly soundtracks, and I just listen all day. Whenever a soundtrack comes on I always try to guess the movie title and composer. I'm pretty accurate so far, but some throw me off.
  15. Oh, you'll be surprised. My sister had her car broken into and the stole her cd pack full of soundtracks and church cds. A lot were CD-Rs too i'm sure. You can never be too careful when there's a bunch of retards on the loose.
