  1. And cost-effective. They must be low on budget. Seems like another Anderson turkey. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  2. Weak though enjoyable because of the "eye candy". But then suddenly, it became all zombie-like. Was James Cameron still connected to the show when that "change" happened? ----------------- Alex Cremers
  3. Strange, I would never make that connection. The Tennis Game is brilliant and not "twinkly" like Spacecamp! Spacecamp shares more ground with Always. Spacecamp is not his greatest score and is just a tiny bit dated somehow, just like that movie. On the other hand, I suppose some cues are vaguely familiar with Witches, after all. Aah, Spacecamp sounds like Spacecamp. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  4. Might very well be, but the amount of samples he's been using for the last decade or so will tell you otherwise. If you're Vangelis, why not use real strings instead of really lousy strings samples. I use samples myself but I use to admire Vangelis because he managed to bring a special orchestral sound made solely with synths and REAL (!) percussion. He's a great percussionist too, but it's all samples now. I like his sound of the Seventies and especially what he did with the Yamaha CS-80. But I think Blade Runner (1982) (the soundtrack as it appears in the movie, not the CD, pleeaaassse) was the last interesting thing he did. Once he could be occasionally freaky but that made him also inventive and creative. Now, it has become way too corny, too schmaltz, too commercial for me, lads. Someone influential and close to him should have the balls to tell him so. Then, maybe, there's some hope left. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  5. Jimmy Stewart ----------------- Alex Cremers
  6. The peak years of Vangelis using synths are already a long time behind us. Vangelis uses a lot of reverb to hide his terrible sound of samples these days. Lots of samples, lots of reverb. I use to like his music and sometimes I wish I still did but the truth is I simply can't anymore. Listen to El Greco, for Pete's sake, and you'll know what I mean. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  7. Only just now? Heaven and Earh, the last in the Vietnam trilogy, was scored by another synth man, named Kitaro. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  8. Vangelis had a really big hit in the charts with Conquest of Paradise. Maybe this is what attracted Stone to hire him. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  9. Sorry, Stefancos, Mein Fuhrer!!!!! I canz't dezides who Mein Fuhrer ist. Stefancos or Indysolo? I shall consult the boot, he will know what to do. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  10. Sure, Meine Fuhrer, it might very well be a fraud. But when 500 pressed (manufactured) CDs are made, claiming that track 26 by John Williams was used in the temp score of Blade Runner, I can't mention it here? Btw, I've said from the start it was on a boot. (a $1000 boot, BTW!) I didn't post this 2-3 months ago but given the topic of this thread (Williams supposedly scoring Blade Runner) I thought I'll do it anyway. Et voila, les boots: http://www.bladezone.com/contents/film/pro...reamt_music.php http://www.scififilmmusic.com/sfsm/stracks.../st_brunner.htm ----------------- Alex Cremers
  11. Thanks for the information. The world of bootlegs is a strange one. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  12. Can someone comment on this CD by Danny Elfman? Is it good? What's it worth? Thanks. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  13. Oh yeah, what name is that QuestionMarkMan?
  14. No, Guy Williams from the Disney series is the best Zorro! And what's more, he's the brother of John Williams. So who's the best Zorro now, huh? Just kidding.
  15. I've heard of famous people confessing to typing their name in a search engine. It's difficult to resist. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  16. No need to look into it anymore. I've found it! From Bladezone: It's a description of one of the bootlegs. They don't know what cue it is, though. Probably not a Williams fan. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  17. When I ran into that webpage mentioning a Williams track in Blade Runner, two-three months ago, I thought I should post about it. It was really news to me that the BR temp track contained some Williams. But I didn't post it because I was sure nobody over here cares about these things. And now I can't seem to find it anymore. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  18. There was one Williams track used in the temp score. I don't know which one but it's on one of the countless bootlegs (15-20 different ones!) of Blade Runner. Also the theme logo of the Ladd Company is included on most bootlegs. For many BR fanatics the Ladd Company logo is a part of the complete BR movie experience just like Star Wars fanatics embrace the 20th Century Fox logo as a part of Star Wars. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  19. When I signed the petition, a long time ago, they promised us updates and info. Seen nothing yet. ----------------- Alex Cremers
  20. Well, Guy Williams, of course.
  21. My guess it's AI, the old AI. Btw, I think Hector J. Guzman is right and it probably went like this. Grandson says: Hey grandpa, did you know there's a forum devoted to you? Williams: Really, what do they talk about? My music? Are they discussing my music? Grandson: Hmmmm, no, hardly. They're like a bunch of housewives with opinions on just about everything. Here, see for yourself. Williams: :? ----------------- Alex Cremers
  22. Ah, a TV series and not a movie. Good. That makes a lot of more sense. So I guess that theme will be flushed down the toilet a long with the rest of the old crew. ----------------- Alex Cremers
