  1. I'm not sure how many of you pop over to SpielbergFilms.com from time to time, and I wanted to let this community know, since we have such close common interests. Steven Awalt announced the closure of the site proper back in February of this year. Now the forum has had to close down as well, so July 31 marks the end of SpielbergFilms.com all together. There is a new site/forum that has been created to discuss all things Spielberg, and if you're interested, you can find us at www.playmountain.net . Thanks for all the support through the years from the JWfan community!

Yes, yes... semantics. My point is still the same.

As a Goldenthal fan, I was very pissed to hear such blatent plagerism of his choral piece VICTORIOUS TITUS from TITUS at the beginning of 300. This is not debatable as in "Horner used the theme from Schindler's List in Enemy at the Gates", but it is full on copying of another composer's work and taking credit for it. That said, I really dug the movie and the rest of the score.
  4. What is the difference between trumpet players and US government savings bonds? Over time, the bonds eventually mature and earn money.
  5. What do you call 20 French horn players at the bottom of the ocean? A good start.
  6. What's the difference between a coffin and a cello case? One has the corpse on the outside.
  7. Memoirs of a Geisha The Brothers Grimm Tim Burton's Corpse Bride Cinderella Man A History of Violence
  8. Yes, you could even have changing clothing for them. For instance, Goldsmith could come with a multitude of whacky ties and Williams could come with a closet full of black turtlenecks...you get the idea.
  9. For me, easily Fight Club is best. It really packs a whallop each time you re-watch it. The direction is fantastic and only complemented by three great performances to boot. I do really enjoy all of his films though. Each has its own special signature to it and merrits multipule viewings. Even Alien 3 is fun to watch every now and then. Here's to hoping Zodiac will kick all kinds of major ass. Perhaps it will be a quasi-sequel to Se7en?
  10. I love seeing what everyone else has. Since I became a Williams collector after The Phantom Menace was released, I don't have a lot of his work before that point. Having said that, here's my rather small collection: Fiddler on the Roof Jaws (Anniversary Collectors Edition) The Star Wars Trilogy Anthology Boxed Set Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Artista collectors edition) Superman the Movie (Rhino 2 CD) Raiders of the Lost Ark (expanded) ET (20th anniversary release) By Request Empire of the Sun Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Hook Far and Away Home Alone 2 (single disc) Jurassic Park Schindler's List The Lost World Amistad Saving Private Ryan The Phantom Menace (OST) The Phantom Menace (Ultimate Edition) Angela's Ashes The Patriot AI Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone American Journey Attack of the Clones Minority Report Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Catch Me If You Can Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban The Terminal Revenge of the Sith War of the Worlds Memoirs of a Geisha Munich
  11. As much as I love Jerry Goldsmith's score to The Mummy, I have to say, I find that The Mummy Returns is better. One of my favorite action scores.
  12. It had Gene Hackman. I'd call that a good part.
  13. If you want to talk Superman films, I think Superman III is far more wretched than Superman IV.
