  1. SW and Shostakovich... it's all the same but anyway, SHAME ON WGBH
  2. In the meantime, i have added several titles to my list: Damien, Outland, Lionheart, Masada, A Patch of Blue, 2 Days in the Valley, Night Crossing, The Ghost and the Darkness... thanks for all this music, maestro
  3. Mine are Joe Hisaishi, Michael Nyman, Kenji Kawai, Miklós Rózsa and many other.
  4. one vote for The Terminal I AGREE. The best theme he's written in years. beautiful and complex harmony
  5. Hehe, James Cameron confirmed (a couple of months ago) his next movie will be "Battle Angel Alita", and will be shot in 3D. The early tests of the main character (fully developed in CGI) have shown it will be the best digital character ever done (better than Gollum).
  6. Saving Ryan's Priv.... errr Saving Private Ryan Kikujiro's Summer? By Williams, Last Crusade is always in my player.
  7. Heh, he will die, yeah... and the next question would be... how will John Williams resurrect? Being reborn from his ashes? or will he just remain as a spirit, like Yoda, Anakin and ObiWan?
  8. "Toy Planes, Home and Hearth" from Empire of the Sun
  9. "Onna Ga Kaidan Wo Notoro Toki" by Mikio Naruse, a wonderful drama (but who cares, i would add). And not much more, in this so busy month studying.
  10. NO. Definitely NOT. Their collaboration is the best nowadays (yeah, even better than Shyamalan/JNH, Burton/Elfman, Zemeckis/Silvestri, Scott/Zimmer, Kitano/Hisaishi, etc.). Haven't listened to The Terminal yet, but you must consider that A FILM or SCORE DOESN'T NEED TO BE IMPRESSIVE TO BE GOOD. In fact, he still innovates in this "small" projects. They are not a barrier for his progressive career.
  11. -Close Encounters -Superman -Dracula (unfortunately) -The Missouri Breaks -Diamond Head -The Sugarland Express (though i really love the score) -The Fury -Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone -...
  12. Why? Did Alan Menken pass away? along with Joe Hisaishi, believe me. "Le lune brille pour toi" from "Le Petit Poucet" sung by Vanessa Paradis is a highlight from the score. He always writes some memorable song. Anyway, John Williams isn't a good songwriter, that's true. Even his greatest effort so far ("For Always") is too simple. But well, he can't be perfect in everything Peio, who doesn't consider Somewhere in My Memory a song.
  13. me neither, except in some musicals (such as West Side Story) Most of them were created with commercial purposes
