  1. Post Below the name of the WORST soundtrack composed for a major film by a major composer..... lets just say you cannot use any James Horner films...... or else this would be too easy I guess after some thought my choice is Cats Eye - Alan Silvestri
  2. yeh thats what I meant. Shows how much I even paid attention to the thing. Thats what happens when you are too lazy to even IMDB things.
  3. I was watching The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen on hbo the other nite and noticed a REALLY familiar motif ( A up C down G#). I think that is the same for voldemort in HP Film. Its not like it happens once - but is the motific basis for the entire score. Its not that important, but I have had so much fun complaining about things lately I thought i would just add that. Cheerio
  4. The Tit Grab: is at Return of the Jedi Disc 01:47:53 Maybe someone can grab that frame and post it. Mine aint working.
  5. In Jedi when she gots shot by the bunker........ its quick. Lucasfilm would not call this a mistake also - its a creative desicion representing the forshadowing of them getting it on and having kids after the movie is over. Sorry for spelling mistakes in all my posts - I actually hate spellling very much.
  6. Yet there are so many good mistakes in Star Wars: like han grabbing leia's tit or stoomtroopers banging their heads....
  7. Hmm I have a mac - have the mp3s on my playlist - own the CD - yet do not remember ever burning them - or having trouble burning them for that matter. I wonder how they got there.
  8. I think that whole Jabba ANH scene sucks
  9. I think the biggest salary a film composer ever made on a front end deal was 3.5 million. Which was Danny E for coming to save the day on Hulk. Even though the all time record has to be Horner for Titandic which I think he made nearly twice as much on back end royalties. I wonder how much Johnny makes per movie/album now. I think he could be charging 3M a film and people would be paying for that at this point.
  10. PS dont buy the game - it really sucks.
  11. Come on this is Hollywood, people get fired here for taking the wrong parking spot. There are plenty of people qualified and happy to fill in the gaps. Mistakes like this are unexcusable. But yes I still think the movies are fun and one day I will get around to watching all three of them.
  12. I recently read in the New York times poll: the three greatest film scores Lord of the Rings - HS Gladiator - HZ Star Wars - JW in that order.
  13. I think Williams is getting too old physically to stress over time deadlines and sit at his desk for fourteen hours a day for weeks at a time. It will be interesting to see who will be ghosting/orchestrating for doyle - i think they will be working pretty hard.
  14. Yeh lets read these previous ones. I wrote a 10 page paper on the score Gettysburg a year ago. I would like to read that Star Wars Paper.
  15. Hmm...still pretty confused. What happened to the BR cues then? Did they even get recorded? Was there some type of confrentation between the two composers? That would have been a sight to see....
  16. Well i actually spoke to Mr. Ross and that is what he siad verbatum. I also looked through the score to COS and saw half JW hand half BR hand. I am just trying to figure if the BR stuff was used in the end. And if not maybe he never mentioned that they didn't use it becuase he was somehow embrassed. It could be any of many possibilities. I also know the studio didn't want to credit BR as a co composer which is what JW wanted - they didnt want to credit him at all - the compromise credit was music adapted by - which is a throwback to ancient times.
  17. PS: I meant some of it was to picture and some of it wasn't
  18. I am also confused by this. When I met Bill Ross he said two things: a) John Williams personally selected him to adapt his music for COS B) JW ended up writing 45 Minutes of music - all of it was not to picture So if I assume JW wrote 45 then BR wrote the rest? Anyone know? I know that Bill seemed to even be a little goo goo ga ga over Mr. Williams and the honor of helping him. He siad he did many piano reductions of the HPSS score - which he had a copy. I also looked at a copy of the sketch score for HPCOS - which seemed about 50/50 Williams/Ross. They both composed to the typical JW sketch line paper. But I would like to know what JW wrote and what BR wrote - HPCOS is one of the soundtracks I do not own so I am not as familiar with the score. Who can clear this up? PS I think the little kids are going to be pissed if hedwig theme doesn't play on the celeste as the film opens. I remember them all whisteling and singing the theme during the last time.
  19. wow - these things must have extremely long forwarding lives. Considering i just saw it a few days ago. Yet still the original star wars kid movie is brilliant. I dont get the porn link above. Perhaps you clicked the wrong link?
  20. Also this is super cool... ALZHEIMERS' TEST Count the "F" in the following text: FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS... (SEE BELOW) HOW MANY ? .... 3? WRONG, THERE ARE 6 !!-- no joke. READ IT AGAIN ! The reasoning behind is further down. The brain cannot process "OF". Incredible or what? Go back and look again!! Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius. Three is normal, four is quite rare.
  21. If you haven't seen this - original and variations - you are missing out on the funniest thing on the internet. http://swkvideo.com/ then read how serious people get about this.... ie donations/history/interviews.... http://www.waxy.org/archive/2003/04/29/star_war.shtml When i saw this for the first time last year I nearly suffocated myself laughing when he hits the wall.....
  22. This is turning into a government conspiracy. I mean face it this is obviously a mistake ridden release of ANH. Which is a shame because Lucas finally did come out with this at a reasonable price with some nice extras. He most likely could have charged another 25 bucks for this set and get away with it. I guess if they admit the mistake and offer a refund disc - that is gonna cost MAD BUCKS!!!! Of course they are gonna claim its an artistic decision. I just cannot understand how this could happen. You would figure with the most hyped DVD release of all time they would have some one proofing the damn movie before they pressed the DVDs. Its cool that we all like the star wars music and all - but there should not be mistakes on something like this! - no matter who the composer. I feel like taking it back just because its an inferior disk (and my box is fd up - see previous page).
  23. This has been a very entertaining thread. Go Neil! As for me - i am pissed about this sound stuff - But more pissed about this As you can see i was too excited to go home and watch it that i didn't once look at the box. You think I can take that back to best buy? Lol? If this was a baseball card it would probly be worth mad dough. Like that Billy Ripken Tops Card with the curse on the bottom of the bat.
  24. KM, Is your avatar a splice from the old DV SWCCG Card? the contact might have been someone with the same/similar lastname even. i dont want to name names. Bill Ross would have rocked it - he would have basically drawn 75 percent from previous 3 films. He put in a lot of time in COS getting the williams sound down. he even did alot of piano reductions of the original score which JW let him look upon while scoring the alternate scenes.
