Faleel 5,400
I noticed that when I brightned up some of the ROTJ cues, that it sounded more like ROTLA than E.T. like I had theorized it to sound, go figure.Anybody else notice, and want to discuss? Jilal 569
Of course it does, both scores are recorded by Eric Tomlinson. The big difference however is that ROTJ was recorded at Abbey Road. But nonetheless you can still hear both scores are recorded by the same engineer.
crocodile 8,033
I thought Raiders was also recorded at Abbey Road. Wasn't it the first score to be recorded there after the refurbishment?Karol
KK 3,307
It was. Both RotJ and RotLA were recorded at Abbey Road.
Jilal 569
You're wrong. It was recorded at Anvil.
KK 3,307
Anvil lost its recording stage back in the early 80s so it started a partnership with Abbey Road. It was this partnership that had Abbey Road record its first film score. So yes, Anvil's services were used, but Raiders was still recorded at Abbey Road. Jay 37,456
My copy of the original OST says "Recorded at Anvil Recording Studios London, England" on the back coverMy copy of the DCC CD says "Recorded at Anvil Recording Studios, Denham and EMI Abbey Road Studio No. 1, February 1981"My copy of the Concord re-issue repeats the OST credit exactly "Recorded at Anvil Recording Studios, London, England"
Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,489
I would trust the DCC book. I think those guys knew more about the score than Williams himself.I also want to assume that the Concord notes are erroneous.
