Marian Schedenig 8,200
Very nice! Lay Of LeithianThis should be "Lay Of Luthien" though. I wonder who messed up the DVD subtitles here.Marian - who thinks the subtitles on his TTT DVD are far worse. LOL
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Hmmmm...The Death Of Borimir should be re-titled The Departure Of Boromir. Otherwise very good job.Stefancos-

ridan 0
the departure is correct. i didn't notice that until now. i guess i read the chapter title wrong. and, the lay of leithien, that is what it is called in the silm. and the lays of beleriand, but tolkien originally called it luthien, but when he changed some of his languages, it was changed to leithien.i am planning on doing the same for TTT and ROTK whn their special editions come out, and then bugging the studio until they release the complete score. Marian Schedenig 8,200
Huh? Leithian? What's it supposed to be?? :cry:Marian - who hasn't read the Sil in years.

Ren 75
Cool, thread!!!!!!!! so I can go through and make a new CD from my FOTR in the order of this list? But what about track times?Ren - who noticed that the Forth Erolingas melody is edited BADLY in the movie.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Not really Ren, they only added a snippet of choral music for Gandalf's appearance.
Ren 75
No seriously, that angular violin line is not in it's entirety in the movie, you know that line when they break through the doors for their final ride.
ridan 0
But what about track times?Ren - who noticed that the Forth Eorlingas melody is edited BADLY in the movie.track times: i don't know how to measure the track times. i would if i did.forth: i did't notice. gues i'll listen closely when the EXT. ED. comes out.
Ren 75
track times - don't you just have to find the clip from the movie on the OST? then write down the length of time it plays?Ren, who would have done just that.
ridan 0
i would, but not all of the music is on the OST. if it was, it would be pointless to make the list.

NeejaHalycon 0
Hey, I was looking for a thread to bring up a LOTR discussion, and this seemed as good as any.Question: What exactly is the deal with the alternate version of Breaking of the Fellowship during the Official Fan Club Credits? Has Howard Shore talked about this at all in any sort of interview? Can we expect to have it on the full releases next Nov.? Is it part of the three film suite, which I assume is being created? #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Can we expect to have it on the full releases next Nov.? What full releases next november?Stefancos- who thinks that's a bit optimistic.
Incanus 5,715
Ihave heard this news as well. I can't confirm it but Shore might be releasing the full versions of the 3 scores November 2004 at the same time with the Return of the King Extended edition. At any case I'm sure he'll produce them some time in the near future.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
I'm sure that he is very interested in releasing them, i just hope that those who actually hold the rights to the music feel the same way.I'm guessing this is all based on that old report from a year or so back?Stefancos- who hopes, but is far from convinced. Incanus 5,715
The report is quite old and it is a rumor but all that one can do is hope 8O !! Shore would be very willing to release these scores in full but there is the question of market the record companies have to consider. Unfortunately this is the spot where they usually show the red light as soundtracks are not something mainstream consumers will buy and Special editions with multiple CDs cost more than your average ones. On the other hand LOTR has quite a popularity as did the initial soundtrack releases so it could happen. Hopefully Peter Jackson uses his influnce in the industry (if he has acquired any since the appearance of the LOTR films) to make it happen as well.
