Apparantely I was sheltered as a child, because I never heard of TLOTR until I was in college.Where are the sappy violins?

Marian Schedenig 8,200
Fifty years is far too short a time to read such an excellent and admirable novel. Marian - realizing his above post was not specific enough. Legend (Jerry Goldsmith)

John Crichton 4
Fifty years is far too short a time to read such an excellent and admirable novel. I don't know half of it as well as I should, and I like less than half of it half as well as it deserves. John- just finished The Silmarillion, in the middle of the Unfinished Tales, and planning to read LOTR next.
Marian Schedenig 8,200
Unfinished Tales is what I'll read next by Tolkien, when I get my hands on that neat black paperback edition. It's been years since I've read my German edition (come to think of it, it's already been years since I lent it to a friend ).Marian - currently reading Dune. Guest
Bah...I'd rather read one of Arthur C Clarke's books or Tom Wolfe's The Right Stuff.
Marian Schedenig 8,200
Arthur C. Clarke was a LOTR fan:I know nothing comparable to it except Lord of the Rings. (on Dune)Marian -
