  1. I wasn't paying too much attention to the score while seeing it friday night, I was too involved with the movie. It didn't stick out at me really, but Kamen's only did at about 2 points in the first movie. From what i've heard again on Ottman's site, I think I preferred Kamen's score.
  2. I'll probably end up buying Shore's Return of the King score, but i'm not looking forward to it that much. Other than that, something will have to jump out at me in the theatres this summer into the fall. Actually, i'm kind of anticipating the score for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, but thats just because i'm a huge fan of the books by O'Brian. I don't even know who is scoring it, but the books are great. I also tend to only really anticipate Williams scores.
  3. Video game music for me doesn't get any better than the original Zelda for NES and Ocarina of Time for N64
  4. I'm not sure if i'll see Identity, didn't care for the Others that much. What I did see Saturday night was Confidence, and that was pretty good. Not the best of that genre, but i'd give it a solid B.
  5. The old trilogy vs the new trilogy also shows that plot and character development will ALWAYS beat out special effects, no matter how cutting edge they might be.
  6. Hey, if it begins with a 20, thats good enough for me
  7. Star Wars Ep II: I just like that movie poster a lot, and that cover, not the alternate ones with different characters.
  8. I thought that since so many people have older films, or at least from the 90's and older as most of their favorites, what are everyones favorite movies since the turn of the century. Mine, Chicago Minority Report Pitch Black Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Gladiator O'Brother Where Art Thou? Road to Perdition and to a lesser extent: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Red Dragon, Cast Away, X-Men, The Patriot, Snatch, Oceans Eleven, A Beutiful Mind, The Royal Tenenbaums, Spy Game, The Count of Monte Cristo, Catch Me if You Can, The Bourne Identity, Damn, I see too many movies, this is probably less than a fourth of what i've seen since Jan 1, 2000.
  9. Thats the cup of a carpenter, I choose the grail theme
  10. I know exactly what you mean, I do the same thing. And outside of maybe keeping tempo and rhythm, I don't have a damn clue what I am doing. 8O The DVD sounds cool though, I may just have to pick that up.
  11. That was my biggest complaint about the movie. Fawkes theme when they left the chamber of secrets was WAY to low for a moment that is supposed to be pretty celebratory. I know they were going for that "It's just like magic" joke, but fawkes theme going all out would have been much better uninterupted cinemattically. If they really wanted to keep that in there they could have mad the scene five seconds longer, its not too much more for a 2 1/2 hour movie.
  12. If it's similar to the commercial for the CoS DVD, if they used the same promotional music, the took different sections of Hedwig's theme and sort of cut and pasted them togehter to fit certain music into points in the promotion. Same theme, just digitally rearranged to hit the high points at the right time. Thats if it is the same promotional music as the commerical.
  13. Gladiator Red Dragon Forrest Gump Cast Away, yeah I know, but what little there is I like a lot O'Brother Where Art Thou?, even though its more like a soundtrack While they are pretty good, i've been a little disappointed with the LotR soundtracks. It has some very good main themes, but something feels lacking from the complete score
  14. I'll pick it up sometime in the next month or so. Maybe this friday, maybe not til May. Probably sooner, because Best Buy will have it cheap the first few days. The movies are OK, nothing that great, and i'm still upset by how much behind the books they are. I've got a lot of hope for PoA though, its a much more character driven book, andthe best of the sereis to date IMO.
  15. Cuaron may not be that great, but he is still that much better than Chris Columbus.
