  1. Twenty-one tracks? These must be pretty short...
  2. ESB always seemed to have the BEST sound quality of the three to me. That means the Anthology will be just...incredible.
  3. I have all three SE releases, but not the Anthology. 1. For A New Hope (or Star Wars for you purists out there) and The Empire Strikes Back, is there anything the Anthology provides that the SE does not, including better sound quality? 2. I know there are several cues from Return of the Jedi unique to the Anthology. I have also heard that sound quality is superior. Is this correct? Considering purchasing the Anthology, y'see.
  4. I've only heard a couple of these scores. ...Probably shouldn't have voted.
  5. Has anyone noticed how each Star Wars movie seems to have less centerpiece themes? A New Hope: Luke's Theme, Leia's Theme, Ben's Theme The Empire Strikes Back: The Imperial March, Yoda's Theme, Han and the Princess Return of the Jedi: Luke and Leia, March of the Ewoks The Phantom Menace: Anakin's Theme, Duel of the Fates Attack of the Clones: Love Theme from Episode II (Across the Stars) From three themes to one. Of course, that's open to interpretation; it's sometimes hard to tell what a centerpiece theme is. And though there is only one in Attack of the Clones, there are many, many lesser themes. Hey, that sounds interesting. Where is this MIDI available?
  6. Eh, I use Overture, and I think it's great...
  7. It doesn't seem like the kind of footage that would be cut from a movie, y'know? Rarely are big scenes cut from films (Harry Potter anyway); it's usually just dialogue that's scrapped.
  8. Then...what exactly will happen to the footage of the Hogwarts Choir?
  9. That was actually a mistake...some Ewok actor tripped while the camera was still on.
  10. That's as bad a reason as no reason at all. Actually, it makes the wampa less scary. It's unnerving to never really see Luke's attacker. Eeeee, what is it? Yes, although it needs to be less distracting. I absolutely agree with you there.
  11. Eh, they might not have had clearance to land right at the shield generator. Who's to say?
  12. No, there wouldn't have been enough time. If the Rebel Fleet dropped out of hyperspace, the shield would be back up like *that*. The shield seems to be too close to the Death Star for the Fleet to safely jump inside of it. Another thing is that they didn't just turn off the shield on Endor, they destroyed the shield generator. The shield can be turned back on quickly enough but obviously not rebuilt.
  13. Well, yes, there's an inconsistency with the rebel briefing, but it's better than there being no shield around Endor at all.
  14. Yeah, everything is pretty much realistic now, save for some awful brass. It is pretty happy. Perhaps something not quite so upbeat would have better fit Rogue Squadron (the actual flight group), yes, but this piece of music is just thrilling to listen to.
  15. IIRC the shield had to be lowered for the shuttle Tydirium to land on Endor's moon.
  16. Hey, guys, Rebel Strike is out. The arrangement of the main theme surpasses Rogue Squadron by miles, and it's quite a bit better than Rogue Leader as well.
  17. Wow, greater sound quality? And unused/alternate/original cues. I think I'll buy the Anthology, despite it being outdated, for this RotJ stuff.
  18. The B theme would be good in conjunction with the Luke and Leia theme for the twins' birth. I really can't think of any centerpiece theme, though...everything's already in place. Oh, well, we'll probably get a General Grievous motif, but I doubt that'll be a centerpiece theme.
  19. Right, I actually meant that McDiarmid makes a better Emperor than Revill vocally; the comment about the pic was unrelated. But I should have separated the two sentences.
  20. Well, I think Ian McDiarmid makes a better Emperor than Revill. The pic looks awesome. But the original versions should be released on DVD...I don't really care about them (unless the new ones are changed beyond recognition or something) but I understand why the "oldies" want them.
  21. Return of the Jedi RCA Victor edition, disc 2, track 8: "The Battle of Endor III" - about five minutes in. Anybody else think this music is just...awesome? It's, like, the ultimate climactic music, with an interesting melody and a great statement of Luke's theme. Sadly, you won't be able to find a MIDI file of this, or hear it on a Star Wars music compilation. It's not good as a concert suite. But wow, this music is great...and it's another reason to hate RCA or whoever for producing a CD with such terrible sound quality. GAH, The Empire Strikes Back sounds like it was recorded in 1990, but Return of the Jedi in the...70's. Hrm. There's an interesting rendition of it in Rogue Squadron: Rogue Leader. It's synthesized, and not too well, but at least it's a fresh look at the music, and Chris Huelsbeck composed a great extension to the piece, for whatever reason.
  22. Not having heard the music it is derived from, it doesn't bother me.
  23. Well, Ewok Celebration has lyrics - in English...
